Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Since I was a little girl, writing has been my passion. Over the course of the last three years, I have published four books. While most authors stay within one genre, I plan to expand across multiple. Later this year, I will be releasing my first mystery novel.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
1105 c stRekindled Love is my latest release. Inspiration came from a dream and a movie. The story is based out of where I live and to write the book, I frequently sat in bars, restaurants to people watch.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always have coffee with me while I write as well as pens, a notebook, and my phone. Although, this isn’t unusual among writers.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My biggest influence has been Nicholas Sparks. I have always loved the way he can evoke emotion thru his writing. I have not read a book written by him that hasn’t made me laugh, scream and bawl my eyes out.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I am working on my first mystery novel set to release in September of 2018.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Self-promotion has always been my go-to thing. My newsletter is sent out twice a month. I keep my readers updated on my writing, what I’m currently reading, and how I am feeling towards everything. This has proved to be the best method of promotion for myself and my work.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t think you are going to become an overnight sensation once you publish a book. It’s hard work and all you can do is continue to write for your audience no matter what you make. Writing should be something you enjoy, not something you do because you want to make money. If you enjoy what you write, then money will surely follow.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
What are you reading now?
Currently, I am reading Ready Player One. I bought the book before it came out in theatres. Last weekend, I went and saw the movie twice. Yes, twice. It’s that good. I couldn’t help myself. I had to read the book too.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next on my agenda is to write across genres. I have written in contemporary romance and paranormal romance so far. By the end of next year, I want to have a mystery/thriller book and a crime fiction book out for my readers.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
2. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
3. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
