I am fee hill I have written several Childern books.amd have written a couple of short stories. Along with a collection of coloring books.I am the owner of Nurse Life Boutique and have written several childern books.It has always been my passion to create and write my own books

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Dead vowels on Amazon. I was inspired to write it because I always wanted to do a drama / comdey all in one book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to start writing on the weekends I also work as a nurse assistant. So on my down time ,I like to start writing.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My influence is Mya Angelo’s book of poams.Her writing is wonderful. I always have been inspired by her work.

What are you working on now?
I’m working writing my memior.I think every other need to write one.It give the readers a glimpse of your life and the challenges you face .Life don’t always hand you a bowl of cherries. Sometime it throws rocks your way .you just have to learn how to dodged them.And keep yourself inspired with the beauty that life also brings.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My best method is social media. I love to do pop up events ,because I can actually connect with my readers and they can connect with me.But my first and best method would be social media.The world is bigger out there.you can connect with the entire world threw social media. Thank God for it.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes keep believing you can,and you will.you have to put it in motion in your mind.Because the mind have the power over all .If we think about it long enough, it can be our reality. We have to see ourselves in the moment.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never stop believing in you.When you cheer loud enough for yourself. They can’t help but to hear you.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently not reading anything as of now ,because I’m still writing my memoir.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I writing and learning how to write a screenplay.I would love to see one of my books on the big screen. That’s my dream .And with the efforts and work I’m sure it will get there one day.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would take my own books.I have written a few.to last me .

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I grew up a massive movie and television lover. I was introduced to writing by my 7th grade language arts teacher. I instantly loved it and felt like it was the most natural form of expression. I was however not confident about my abilities and didn’t believe I could do it professionally. I decided to go to Film school in hopes of working in Hollywood. I was fortunate enough to get work right away even luckier to get a job working as an assistant to a producer on a major motion picture. That’s what inspired my first novel.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Hollywood Assistant: Life Below The Line is based on my experience working in the assistant to producer role on my first feature film. Post graduation I was blessed to get a job I was unqualified for. Instantly I was thrown into a new world completely unaware of how it operated while simultaneously trying to keep my head above water. The Hollywood Assistant: Life Below The Line takes you on an explosively revealing ride on what it’s like to work on big budget summer block buster.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write my outline over and over again being as detailed as I can.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Journalism student from Dorset in England, but I write fiction on the side, as I have done since a very young age. Though I am still in my formative years as an author, I am partway through self-publishing a trilogy of books. The first of these received very strong reviews following a book signing event. Now, though, onto something completely different.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book is called USLOF, which stands for the Underground Secret Legion of Freedom, and it begins a new, six book saga, each with six short stories within. This is anthological science fiction and fantasy, for fans of Star Trek and Doctor Who, with colourful characters and kooky concepts. Me and my Dad used to write stories about USLOF when I was younger, and I thought about how great it would be to bring those stories to life, but with a bit more of an edge, and slightly more detail.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have no routine when it comes to writing. I write as and when I feel like it, wherever and whenever I get the motivation. Sometimes this comes in the least convenient moment – in the middle of a day at work or crossing the road, you get a thought or idea for a bit of dialogue that you want your memory to retain. Unlike many authors, I believe the key to productive writing is to be without a schedule. This is *creative* writing, and having too much structure limits that creativity.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Constantly, I discover new authors, and appreciate anybody who does something truly influential with the art of writing. Cormac McCarthy, George Orwell and Margaret Atwood are the ones to look up to when I write something darker, but for this, of course people like Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett. Structurally, strangely, the Mick Herron Slow Horses books probably provided the most grounding.

What are you working on now?
The second volume of USLOF, and beyond. Characters change, situations evolve, and the saga becomes more compelling and addictive to write and hopefully to read. Next year I will also be working alongside a publisher to write a dystopian novel which I can say no more about, just yet.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Discovering Awesome Gang has been really helpful, but usually trying to rally together friends and family to spread the word, using Amazon Author Central and learning how to tailor your keywords and SEO, and promoting on any author groups I can find.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you enjoy, and write what you would want to read. Writing is a joy. I do it for fun and, concerning my journalism and blogs, I also do it professionally, but I know I will only release my best material if it is something I have enjoyed writing. I could try giving authors a thousand lessons and rules to stick by, but writing is not about rules. You make your own rules and learn your own lessons when you pick up a pen or start chuntering away at the keyboard.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never grow up. USLOF gets that divide between childishness and maturity, so I really wanted to evoke that. Oh, and eat your greens, and get some good sleep. I get my best work done when following that lifestyle.

What are you reading now?
Game of Thrones. Book three, specifically, and I feel I will be reading Game of Thrones for some time to come. Martin’s writing is so sweeping and detailed, and the political intrigue is immense.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully to spread the word about my books. Promotion is undoubtedly the hardest – and least enjoyable! – part of writing, especially without a publisher or editorial team. So, hopefully the word of mouth begins to spread and people start enjoying my books on a wider scale.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Catch 22, A Christmas Carol.

My name is June, I have written 5 published books so far. I live in Georgia and I’m a single mom of the greatest kid ever.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Southern Shadows’ Veil’s of Twilight” is a southern paranormal romance on the scale of “Gone With the Wind.” Gone with the Wind inspired me to try my hand at Historical Romance but I am a Paranormal writer at heart, so thus was born a mix of the two.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I listen to Audiobooks while I write, I also have a habit of getting new ideas for future books while working on a particular project, and then I start a new one. I end up working on several at a time in the end.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love the older works by Jane Austen, Bram Stoker among the few.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a Young Adult Paranormal mystery called “Victoria’s Secret”, It is something I’m highly proud of and can’t wait to share.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social Media has been my best friend in this new stage of promoting for me. I find Ream reamwriterinvitejunecalva good for my stories and building a following as well.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write and write some more, and never, ever, give up.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you love your writing, someone somewhere will also love it.

Promote my writing and build a following.

I will always be a Potterhead, no matter how old I get, so definitely all of those, Dracula and Pride and Prejudice are must haves.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard is to “embrace failure as a stepping stone to success.” This mindset shift transforms setbacks from roadblocks into opportunities for growth and learning. Instead of viewing failure as a reflection of our abilities, we can see it as a natural part of the journey toward achieving our goals. By embracing failure, we become more resilient, adaptable, and courageous in the face of challenges. It’s a reminder that success is not defined by avoiding failure, but by how we respond to it and continue to move forward despite obstacles.

What are you reading now?
Currently, I’m diving into “Educated” by Tara Westover. It’s a captivating memoir that explores the author’s journey from growing up in a rural Idaho survivalist family to ultimately earning a PhD from Cambridge University. Westover’s story is a powerful testament to the transformative power of education and the resilience of the human spirit. I’m drawn to memoirs that offer insight into different life experiences and perspectives, and “Educated” is proving to be a compelling and thought-provoking read.

What’s next for you as a writer?
As a writer, I’m excited to continue exploring new avenues for storytelling and engaging with readers. Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written and published seventeen books altogether.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest title was published this past March. The book was inspired by a series that I created called The Tantalizing Tales Collection: Toya’s Titles of Terror, Treachery, And Suspense Shorties.

Volumes one, two, and three are out for sale- Father Forgive Me, Secret Admirer, and The Demons. I will eventually be working on the fourth book and last installment of the series before I start a new series featuring unique suspense, thrillers that involve detectives.

My novel was inspired by the energy within me that manifests to inspire an array of creative vision that I continuously put forward.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Once I get started I cannot stop. My books write themselves through me. I do not even know how the stories are going to completely play out. It is an exciting gift where I am taken on a journey into imagination which keeps me in anticipation as I venture and create.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am not influenced by anyone when it comes to my own writing. I naturally go into my own zone. The spirit within me stimulates and initiates me into action. I like to stay true to myself and go with my own flow of things. Though I have read books that I enjoyed, I appreciate the talents of others and find their works inspirational as a writer in that it motivates and encourages the beauty of what we all share and the distinction of what we bring forth in our stories to further incite the passion that we have for our craft. I never compare myself to others or view other writers as competition. I see us all as achievers reaching for our goals and holding up the torch as collaborators in a field that we love.

What are you working on now?
Currently I am working on a murder mystery that plays out like a classic modern-day noir.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have a very successful personal blog/website that I have had published for sixteen years. However, I just started a new Facebook page dedicated to my novels while I am in the motion to start up a new separate website soley dedicated to my books and upcoming publications.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never give up. Believe in yourself no matter what. Never let anyone or anything discourage you in what you set out to do. If someone does not like or approve of your work that does not mean your work is not good or that you are not good enough. Do not fear criticism and do not try to conform to what you do not align with. Just be who you are and bring something fresh and new to the table even if it does not fit in with what is usual.

Everyone has there own way of thinking but for me my validation does not come from others. If I wrote something I was not satisfied with yet everyone else liked it I would be unhappy.

If I wrote something I liked and no one else liked it I would still be happy because I am content with what I accomplished.

So if we love our work and certain others happen to like it too then that is nice. Of course, writers who market become financially successful through others fond of their books and works, but true success means different things to different people and true fulfillment and success is not based on how many sales one makes.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I cannot think of anything that particularly stands out right now.

What are you reading now?
I am not reading anything right now. I am busy writing new books and working during the week at my job.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Plenty of things. I have a lot of new projects in the works.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I knew I were going to be stranded on a desert island I would stop the event from occurring by avoiding the situation. If the incident happened beyond my control and I had no books to bring along I would text or call on my cellphone for help if lucky enough to receive a service signal in the area.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Carol and I’m a mother of three grown-up children and a Nanna to three grandsons. By day, I run an entertainment agency in northeast England, but by night I turn into an author. I’ve written three books so far, plus several part books much like any other author, I suspect. Two are published and my latest is in editing mode and I hope to publish in the near future. It’s the second in a trilogy, and I’m not a fast writer, so I hope my readers don’t mind waiting?

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest book is ‘Ships in the Night’ and no, it’s not about a parcel delivery service like one of my twitter followers suggested, ha! It’s the second in the trilogy and began its journey on July 28th 2018. I was watching Good Morning Britain. There was an entertainer of mine on the show, he was a Professor of Punch & Judy and his shows were being cancelled by local authorities. He’d been invited on the show to discuss the censorship. Unfortunately, the presenters and their guest had their own agenda’s. His show was accused of being racist, or promulgating domestic violence. When asked to change his show, he refused. “I don’t see what the problem is, they’re only blocks of wood!” he announced in frustration. ONLY BLOCKS OF WOOD! That phrase resounded in my head for days. In the end I wrote a 3-page rant to send to the press complaining about the censorship, it was illegal to censor theatre these days! I realised a 3-page rant wouldn’t get the attention of the press, I’d make a video to send in. Judy puppet silhouetted behind curtains talking to a TV news presenter should do the trick, but I needed a voice. I asked a local female P&J to be the voice of my Judy. “Do you think you have all the answers if the press collar you like they did Brian?” she asked – I hadn’t! I began researching. After a few days, Judy seemed to come to life. She had a story to tell and I was listening – I had to write her story! For the next 2yrs I had little sleep as I researched the history of P&J, the different characters involved and how to bring them into the life of my character Judy (her real name is Joan, or Dame Joan to be precise!) She’d performed the first show to her baby, it was play therapy between him and his father. Friends and family were added as the years went by, but that was over 400 years ago. How could she still be alive? She’s immortal and living in a beautiful part of the Lake District in England. Her story was meant to be a one-off, but it appeared the other characters weren’t happy about that, they wanted a chance to put their side to the story, so now I’m committed to writing the trilogy (I think, lol!)

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think I have any unusual writing habits unless writing at night is considered unusual. I do tend to talk through my ideas with my family ‘a lot’ so they tell me ha! I sometimes drop into talking like my characters, using words that they would use; my sons will remind me ‘you’re not Joan!’ ha! (She’s quite a pushy character who speaks her mind and doesn’t suffer fools silently.)

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I got the idea for the immortality aspect of my books initially from my son, who reminded me of Nicholas Flamel, so to help with my research he bought me the complete works of Michael Scott’s ‘The immortal Nicholas Flamel’ although I preferred not to read his version of Flamel’s life until I finished my own research into the man himself, Nicholas Flamel that is, not Michael Scott. I like a book with a happy ending, easy to read, so my favourites have been books like Black Beauty, Heidi, but I’ve read all sorts from Graham Masterton to Mills and Boon ha! Influences..? Maybe only in the style of their enjoyability and realistic characters. Characters that I can believe in. The story of Joan and her family hit me out of the blue. I HAD to write it. She drove me mad with her story ’til I put pen to paper. I was ‘driven’ to write the book and for two years I barely slept ha!

What are you working on now?
I’m working on the second booking the series. The writing is complete, it’s now being edited and I’ve jotted bits of ideas already for the third book, but I must get this one published first.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve not found any particular website yet for promoting my books, that’s why I’m hoping Awesome Gang will be the one to become my number one ‘goto’ site – GO AWESOME! Yayy!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you wake up every day wanting to write, you should write. Write from the heart. Write what you know. Write what you love. Then comes the hard part… if you’re lucky, you’ll find a publisher who believes in your stories as much as you do yourself and that would be fantastic! But beware of vanity publishers who will charge you to publish your book. A genuine publisher would be paying YOU to allow them to publish your book, not the other way around. There’s a lot of sharks out there looking for gullible wannabe authors who are looking for fame and recognition for their writing, but competition is higher than ever in the modern world, especially since it’s so easy to publish your own books using KDP. It’s free to publish on KDP. With you getting 70% royalties on ebooks and 60% less print costs on paperbacks and hardcovers, so royalties can be good… but then there’s the catch… you have to be seen to be bought and advertising becomes the expense. Having said that with the help of Bryan Cohen’s Ad School 3-monthly profit challenge, I found a better method for advertising on Amazon that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. He calls it his zen lemur approach, banking over ranking, and suggests to keep costs down so that you benefit in profit. It’s a slower approach, but he reckons his method works… If you join Ad School the authors can obtain further guidance and advice from 6-figure authors, but if you can’t afford to join he has monthly subscriptions or the 3-monthly 2 weeks FREE challenges, they’re worth doing and I won a place, for life, as a member of Ad School! But you have to be in the challenge to have a chance to win it, but if it’s free, it’s for me – so what have you got to lose? Good luck to all the new authors out there!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice came from Bryan Cohen’s Amazon Ads Profit Challenge. He runs the challenges every 3-months for 2-weeks totally free and his method was a pleasant surprise. I’d recommend the challenges any time.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading and re-reading my own book for editing, but I intend to re-start the Penny Dreadfuls collection of stories. I started with Mary Shelley’s original story and her writing style is probably similar to mine… or should that be the other way round ha! She relays her story of Frankenstein through letters between the characters and my book ‘Joan’ used diary entries or regression hypnotherapy sessions to reveal much of her story. Do you know, I hadn’t realised that before I wrote this entry of the interview, ha! Thanks for the revelation, you’re DEFINITELY AWESOME! ha!

What’s next for you as a writer?
The next thing for me as a writer is the plan the next book, the last in the trilogy. I’ve known for a while where I wanted the book to finish, but it always surprises me when it happens. For my first book, I actually had five, yes FIVE endings! ha! Until I sat to type, I had no idea which way Joan wanted me to tell it! But I won’t spoil it for anyone… Happy reading!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
On a desert island… stranded… hmmm. Would I have time to read when there’d be so much more to do just to survive? ha! But if I had to choose books I could enjoy repeatedly I think they’d be ones that left me with a feel-good ending OR more practical ones on ‘how to do’ stuff. I’ll have to really think on which books they’d be, but if it was fiction only it would have to be… Black Beauty, Harry Potter(the series in one book if that was ever possible), The Golden Compass (the series in one book as I love the ending) and if course The Immortal Nicholas Flamel (series) lol! It’s hard to choose isn’t it, when the full story is spread over several books, ha!

I find that most of what I write just comes to me and spills out unexpectedly.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing forever – from starting my “great adventure novel” at 9 years-old (which ended with 8 scribbled pages in my notebook) to writing full feature-length movie screenplays. Not to mention fake Tooth-Fairy letters to my 3 kids (which I’m proud to say did pretty good with the audience).

I am also a serial technology entrepreneur with numerous successful companies founded, and a past as an Airforce Captain.

“Generations” is my debut novel, after mainly writing for the screen. Really exciting format with so many options you can’t really achieve on camera!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Generations” is a soft science fiction mystery set on a “Generation Ship” carrying humans to resettle on a new planet.
The plot is a political conspiracy mixed with a personal story, led by an awesome female protagonist who’s smart, sharp and seriously vulnerable in so many aspects 🙂

I started the journey that became “Generations” as the COVID crisis was taking over the world, and many ‘perfect storms’ seemed to align simultaneously: political forces, economic power structures, social patterns and the media chaos around the notion of ‘truth’ — all unraveled their underlying nature under the weight of global stress.
Enter the rise of Artificial Intelligence a year later, and things started moving so fast on such fundamental levels of our modern existence, that one had to start asking themselves: who has the power to make basic decisions about my life? What are the boundaries of one’s responsibility to our community, family, self? And what are the foundational values that make us human, and that we envision our future generations to uphold?
Science Fiction was the perfect stage to engage in such discussions, and the story opened up as more traditions, assumptions and ‘known truths’ about our life were allowed into that speculative experiment lab.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I can write everywhere – car passenger seat, airport terminal, coffee shops, wherever. The one thing that gets me in the “zone” is a special playlist I’ve compiled and keep listening to in a loop while writing. An ambiant, spacey music which doesn’t distract me. I must’ve contributed thousands of listening hours to the bands on that playlist on Spotify lol!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My all-time favorite book is Shibumi, written by the mysterious thriller writer Trevanian.
My Scifi genre master would be Heinlin, and especially “Time Enough for Love”.

What are you working on now?
Readers of “Generations” will discover a link at the end of the book to a free short story focusing on one of the minor characters and storylines in the novel. I’ve been writing that story lately, and now I am already working on the outline for the next book in the “Generations” universe – there’s so much to discover!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”
And in our terms – write what fulfils YOU. What makes you laugh and sad and enraged. Writing is so hard and lengthy and lonely that you can’t really fake interest in something just because “it trends now”.

What are you reading now?
“City on Fire” – a mammoth 1,000 page book set in 1970s New York.

What’s next for you as a writer?
“Generations” will be a trilogy so those are my next planned projects.
Adapting the stories to the screen is also an enticing idea I’m playing with 🙂

I’ve written a bunch of books packed with unique tips on how to do specific things efficiently. I make sure everything I write is to the point. My main goal is that when someone finishes one of my books, they have clear, useful advice they can start using right away.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is called “Organize Your Morning” and its basically how to build an efficient morning routine from the ground up. I’m also working on a series of similar “Organize Your…” books, covering meal planning, thinking systems, and goal-setting.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I feel like I spend about 80% of my writing time on outlining and research. When I feel like I’m ready to write it always seems to just flow.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
James Clear is a big influence, but I read widely.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a series of self-improvement books called “Organize Your Life” covering topics like morning routines, thought processes, meal planning, etc. Its all based on different habits I’ve been experimenting with and various mental models I find useful.

Currently serving as an assistant pastor, he approaches his ministerial duties with a rare blend of humility, empathy, and an insatiable thirst for spiritual growth. I have written 3 books.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
As the author of “Mindful Parenting: Raising Emotionally Intelligent Children,” a few things really sparked the idea for this book.

One big inspiration came from my own experiences raising children. It can be tough navigating the world of emotions with little ones, and I found that mindfulness practices made a huge difference in our journey.

There’s also this incredible amount of research coming out about mindfulness and its benefits for both kids and adults. It seemed like a perfect fit to explore how mindfulness could be used to cultivate emotional intelligence in children.

But really, the biggest inspiration is the growing need for resources on raising emotionally intelligent children. This skill set is so important for success and well-being in life, and I wanted to create a book that could empower parents to help their kids thrive.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I find silence stifling sometimes. I can’t write in a dead-quiet room. Instead, I crave a little background buzz. Coffee shops are great, but my favorite spot is actually a bustling bookstore cafe. The sound of people browsing, the clatter of cups, even the hushed conversations – it creates a white noise that fuels my focus.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
For the parenting side: “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk” by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish completely changed the way I communicate with my own children. It’s a must-read for any parent! There’s also “The Whole-Brain Child” by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson, which offers a brilliant take on child development through the lens of neuroscience.

For the mindfulness side: “Mindful Education” by Daniel J. Siegel definitely played a role. Siegel’s work on integrating mindfulness into education was groundbreaking, and it really resonated with me. Another big influence was Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk. His book “Peace Is Every Step” is a beautiful exploration of mindfulness in everyday life, and it served as a wonderful guide on my own journey with mindfulness practice.

What are you working on now?
You caught me in the thick of things. Right now, I’m actually developing a new Bible study series that I’m really passionate about. It’s going to be a project that blends my love for both the Bible and understanding it, and I can’t wait to share it with the world!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
i haven’t really had a lot of experience in book promoting, The only method I have tried with a little success is the Amazon KDP Ads promotions.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Here are a few nuggets of wisdom I’ve picked up along the way:

Find your voice and own it. There will be countless authors you admire, but don’t try to mimic them. Your unique perspective and experiences are what will make your writing stand out. Embrace your quirks and let your voice shine through.
Read like a writer. Pay attention to how other authors craft their stories, develop characters, and use language. What resonates with you? What techniques can you incorporate into your own work? But remember, reading is for enjoyment too! Don’t get bogged down in analysis – just get lost in a good book.
Develop a thick skin. Rejection is inevitable in this business. But don’t let it discourage you. Learn from critiques, take breaks when needed, and remember why you started writing in the first place. The passion for storytelling is what will keep you going.
Find your tribe. Connect with other writers, online or in person. Share your work, offer support, and celebrate each other’s successes. A strong writing community can be a powerful source of motivation and inspiration.
Most importantly, just write! Don’t wait for the perfect moment or the ideal inspiration. Set realistic goals, carve out time to write every day, and don’t be afraid to experiment. The more you write, the better you’ll become.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
hat’s a tough one! I’ve been fortunate to glean wisdom from so many sources – from the insightful research on mindfulness to the heartfelt conversations with parents. But if I had to pick just one piece of advice that’s truly resonated with me, it would be this:

“The only moment you have is this one. This moment is perfect.”

It’s a beautiful reminder to be present in the current moment, to appreciate the little things, and to not get caught up in the anxieties of the future or the regrets of the past.

What are you reading now?
Right now, I’m actually juggling a few things on my bookshelf! As you might expect, with the new Bible study series in the works, I’m revisiting some of my favorite scholarly texts on the Psalms. There’s a fantastic collection by Walter Brueggemann called “Interpretation: Psalms” that’s offering some fresh insights.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Expanding the “Mindful Parenting” series: There’s so much to explore in the realm of mindfulness and parenting. I’d love to delve deeper into specific age groups, tackling challenges like mindful toddler tantrums or cultivating teenage emotional intelligence.
Creating a mindfulness workbook for parents: A practical companion to “Mindful Parenting,” this workbook could offer guided meditations, journaling prompts, and other exercises to help parents integrate mindfulness practices into their daily lives.
Branching out into children’s books: I’m passionate about making mindfulness accessible to children. A series of picture books or a chapter book series with relatable characters could be a fun way to introduce young readers to mindfulness concepts in a captivating way.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written about eight books and published four. Coming from a career in journalism, I had to discover how to dive into point of view to reveal deep character. After writing a humor column in a local magazine, I discovered my narrative voice.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
East of Evil was inspired by setting up a trust fund for my daughter. She had a brain injury at age ten and we wanted to make sure she would get income no matter what happened to us. We didn’t want her squandering life insurance payouts and such like lottery winners do. When choosing a trustee, we had to find someone trustworthy beyond question. But what about trustees who get tempted by having access to fortunes?

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write the first draft in first person, present tense to anchor the point of view in the character. It would be easy for me to slip into journalism mode and describe things objectively, but then the reader would be less likely to be drawn into the story experience. The second draft becomes third person present tense.
Perhaps the most unusual writing habit is how much I love research. I’ll immerse myself in the topic and visit the locations until elements of the story present themselves. I adore finding fun facts, such as, it is harder to get into veterinary school than medical school in the US.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
As a lifelong reader, in answering that question I could go alphabetically by author, but you’d stop me long before I reach the Ds. I’m an omnivorous reader. I’ll read anything but erotica. Tried it and it was too repetitive. Seriously, if I had a car chase in every scene…nevermind. The classics and the bestsellers hold equal weight with me.
Charles Martin inspires me. Janet Evanovich makes me laugh. Celeste Ng has amazing character-driven stories. Kristin Harmel’s descriptions of place astound me. So many fabulous authors have had an influence on me and my writing that it’s tough to pinpoint the superstars.

What are you working on now?
I’m starting a new series about a female prodigy who earns a master’s in art history and then takes a job at an art gallery. She uncovers criminal activity in the gallery and launches her own investigation to determine who is managing it, but she’s not prepared for the scope of the crimes and who is involved.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Marketing and promotion are worlds of their own. I am learning about them as I go, which is painful and a time suck. For this next series, I hope to work with an agent. All prayers are appreciated that she will love the manuscript!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read the bestsellers in your genre and others. Find out what the bestselling storytellers are doing that works and learn from them. Keep learning the craft of writing. Go to workshops, watch seminars, practice, practice, practice.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Show don’t tell. It took me months to understand that advice from Author John Folsom, but it comes down to removing sensory labels. Describe the thing, feeling, or place with a few key details that capture the essence of it. Instead of writing that Bill was sad, describe how you know he is sad. If in the point-of-view character, then describe the sensation of sadness from the inside and then how it manifests itself in behavior.

What are you reading now?
I just finished The Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman. It’s about a group of pensioners who investigate murders instead of playing bingo and sitting in rocking chairs. The first book has been optioned for a movie and the cast is exactly who I would have chosen.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll keep writing for General Aviation News, which embraces my aviation hobby, and I’ll keep writing novels as long as God gives me the steam to do it.

The Bible, a book about survivalism, and two of the thickest books from my massive to-be-read pile.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I try to live life to the fullest, regardless of circumstances like poverty and the ups and downs of friendship and love. I was born in Chicago in 1952 and dropped out to explore the Sixties counterculture across the United States before hitchhiking across Europe and Africa, working and loving my way on a roundabout Buddhist pilgrimage to Nepal. That is the subject of several more upcoming books. Now I am a semi-retired hobo, writing my honest history of those tumultuous times. I also hope to honor the memory of my many bygone companions before I vanish from this planet and feel assured of further adventures somewhere in the vast cosmos. I have two books already published with two more in the pipeline awaiting publication and am working on a continuing series of life adventures.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I write true stories, inspired my my experiences. Reality thrills me and my life has not been a bore. HOME AT THE EDGE, a sequel to my first book, Chicago Rage, takes you back to the Sixties Revolution, from jail to the madhouse. It is an on the road and in the streets memoir of free-loving, acid dropping radical youth in 1969, that still resonates today. In Chicago Rage we last saw 17-year-old Ron lying handcuffed over the hood of a car. We pick up with him entering Chicago’s Cook County Jail, where he and his radical companions are kept segregated from the other prisoners to prevent them from, god forbid, being a bad influence on murders and rapists.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No, but I have to fit it into my busy life when I can. Inspiration is the key, I am a Fire sign and simply follow where my excited memory takes me.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Victor Frankl comes to mind, as does Jung, Herodotus, and innumerable ancient and modern writers who probe into deep reality to discover what makes us tick and record the events that shape us.

What are you working on now?
The story of Karma Farm, the commune in Wisconsin that I was part of from 1970 and it is still a part of our evolving society based on the natural environment.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

Find your passion first and write from that. Something that excites you will keep you going to surmount all that the vicissitudes of life inevitably throws at you.

We need to balance our life between the extremes, be bold, but also cautious enough to survive and find joy even in adversity. Don’t forget to glory in all that surrounds you, because death stalks all of us and will win in the end. Welcome death lie a friend when it comes with a clear conscience, for it is a portal to your further exploration.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Death is ever neigh, reaching for us. And so I continue to open the portals of memory and observe my people and surroundings with the hope and prayer that it will inspire and benefit an ocean of posterity.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That is a hard choice between spirituality, history and pornography, Buddha’s Sutra and Tantra, and the Kama Sutra too would be a well rounded collection, but all that I’ve read continues to inspire my wandering body and spirit, working in concert. But all I’ve read stays with me even as my eyes fail and books burn around me.

Recipe for Confidence. It was inspired by my personal experience of feeling like a failure, especially for going back to school to get a second Master’s recently until I realized paths can change and that success is how I measure it, not how others measure it. That’s what the main character, Bryn, comes to realize, too.

My third book, which will explore friendship apps.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Rose Orongan, an author since 2016. I began writing at the age of 10, but primarily as a hobby rather than for publication. However, I decided to publish my stories as real books in 2024. My writing mostly consists of smut, romance, and dark romance books.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest book is titled ‘From Shadows to Roses.’ This book typically consists of explicit content and is rated 18+ due to its exploration of possessiveness, Stockholm syndrome, and kidnapping romance, leaning towards dark and bold themes. It inspires me because the limitations I faced in my own life are transcended through the stories I create, allowing me to bring my thoughts to life within the pages of my books.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
While I am writing, I often start to eat, and I also listen to music. In some cases, especially when I am writing a chapter filled with brokenness and sadness, I cry because I can feel it.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Jonaxx , Sierra Simon and Cecelib are the authors that influenced me by writing.

What are you working on now?
I am working on the latest Possessive Series. Mr. Adrian Steele

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I can say Instagram, TikTok and Facebook

Do you have any advice for new authors?
“Don’t be afraid to create something; writing is like magic. It’s all magical when you craft your own world.”

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Never say no to all opportunities, and don’t be afraid to create.”

Interview With Author Joseph Tamone

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Joe and I’m from Delaware. I’m married. My wife’s name is Erica, and she is my inspiration.

We have a lot of animals. That’s one of our passions. I have six dogs, five cats, eleven snakes, a lizard, and three birds.

I’ve written five books.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Whatever Happened to Maryanna.

I wrote science fiction for the longest time, and I would only write science fiction. I felt like sticking to one genre as limiting my creativity, and I wanted to branch out and write something that felt raw and real. Whatever Happened to Maryanna is the farthest thing from science fiction. It’s a story of trauma and imperfect healing, which I think resonates with a lot of people.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
The only habit I know of that seems unusual is that I have the ability to write manuscripts quickly. I wrote Whatever Happened to Maryanna in two weeks. It was published within four months after writing it.

I was told it takes most writers at least six months to write a manuscript.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King is who made me want to write.

I still write by a philosophy of his. He said “don’t write it right. Just write it, and make it right later.”

What are you working on now?
I have a new book coming out in June 2024 called Synesthesia. I always wanted to write horror, and this is my first step into that genre.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is something I’m still trying to figure out. I was told Facebook ads was the place to get sales. I have yet to make any. All Author seems to be a good place to connect with authors and readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t selling many books. Just keep going. Your hard work will eventually be recognized. Fight for your dreams and never give up.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That line from Stephen King.

“Don’t write it right. Just write it, and make it right later.”

What are you reading now?
I like classical literature. I’m currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have many projects on the horizon. I have a book called Synesthesia which is nearing its release. I have the fourth book in my series coming out later this year, and I have another book, Tutto il Mondo, releasing later this year.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Odyssey, Tales of the Arabian Nights, and Lost Horizon.
