Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born in Greenock, Scotland. I have worked as a window cleaner, ambulance driver, teacher and psychologist in London, New York, Edinburgh and St Andrews.

I have written two novels, Bad Beat Hotel – a story about poker and plumbing (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bad-Beat-Hotel-story-plumbing-ebook/dp/B01F19UJZK) and Sailor’s Heart- a tale of cowardice and heroism in the Arctic Convoys (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Martin-Campbell/e/B01F47KDTG/ref=aufs_dp_fta_an_dsk). Both books are available in paperback and in Kindle format and Sailor’s Heart is now available as an audiobook on Audible.com.
Sailor’s Heart was Book of the Week in The Courier, Book of the Month in Yachting Monthly and also 5* reviewed in The Herald, Press and Journal and National.

Besides writing, I also enjoys fishing and playing poker, with little returns on either of these activities.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Sailor’s Heart, inspired by true events in WWII.
In 1942, one per cent of all naval personnel were being referred as psychiatric casualties. The British Admiralty introduced the Stone Frigate approach; experimental psychiatry at an isolated facility set up to recycle men back into battle.
Three of these men fought for their country in the Arctic convoys of World War II, then for their sanity and dignity, labelled as cowards and subjected to controversial treatment.
The places in this story are real, but everyone who played a part in what happened is now dead. It is safe to tell what really happened. What was important then, nobody cares about now.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Same place, same time, every day, so not unusual.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Stick at it. Get through the first book and on to the second. Be clear about why you are writing – clue: not to get rich.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never let your dingle dangle in the dust.

Ahmed Zakaria Mami, born in Tunis. Graduated from the Center of the Academy of Finance and Banking, I obtained certificates from the University of Delft on business models and the IMF certificate on financial development and inclusion. I am proud of my academic achievements and look forward to leveraging them in my professional career. I have acquired solid skills in finance and banking through my studies and I hope to be able to make a significant contribution in this field. I have produced my first book “how to succeed in your business model ” translated into several languages, I hope that it will be very useful for the readers to perfect their way of establishing and creating their small business

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Covid-19 pandemic has profoundly disrupted the business world, leaving many small business owners in dire straits. The economic downturn has been particularly hard on all small business owners, as they often lack resources, ideas, knowledge of a certain mechanism or alternative solution, and financial support from larger organizations. As a result, many small business owners struggle to keep their businesses afloat. Even if it is a difficult situation, it is my source of inspiration in order to contribute to finding practical solutions for small entrepreneurs to better recover and succeed in their relaunch, all these challenges combine inspired me to write ” how to succeed in your business model “in order to contribute to helping those who need it I will not hide from you that the situation after covid is very difficult and I think that a small help is always welcome.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Alexander Osterwalder has had a profound influence on me . His work on business model innovation has helped me develop a better understanding of the complexities of modern businesses and the importance of continual improvement. His work on the business model canvas has also provided me with a great framework to structure my own ideas and projects. Albert Camus has also had a lasting influence on me as a writer. His work on the absurd, existentialism, and his novel The Plague, have given me insight into how to understand and appreciate life’s complexities. His writing style has also inspired me to find my own unique voice and push the boundaries of how I express myself through the written word. Steve Jobs has also been a major influence on me as an author. His emphasis on design and simplicity in technology, as well as his passion for excellence, have been a great source of inspiration for me. His story of overcoming adversity and ultimately becoming one of the most successful and influential entrepreneurs of our time has been a source of motivation to never give up on my own ambitions.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
There are many ways to promote books, With the power of the internet, authors can spread their work far and wide in a matter of seconds. There are many ways to promote books on social media, By posting on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, authors can easily reach a large audience and encourage readers to take action. This could be anything from sharing the book, buying the book, leaving a review, or signing up for a newsletter. A call of action can be designed to fit any author’s needs and can be made as simple or complex as they want

Do you have any advice for new authors?
As a new author, i think It is important to stay focused and to be committed to your craft. Read as much as you can, write every day, and practice different writing styles. It can take time to find your voice, but the more you write, the closer you will get. Also, make sure to get feedback from other authors and editors, and use that feedback to help you improve. Network and make connections with other authors, attend writer’s conferences, and submit your work to contests and literary magazines.Finally, never give up . Writing can be a wonderful experience, even when the words don’t seem to flow. So, never give up, and never stop dreaming.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice that has influenced me is the one I have heard since childhood: “when you want, you can”. This simple phrase has been a common thread in my life and has pushed me to never give up in the face of adversity. It helped me stay focused and never give up on my dreams. This advice was especially valuable in times when I was overwhelmed and felt like I couldn’t do anything. It helped me stay positive and believe in my ability to find solutions to any problem. It helped me stay motivated and never give up. This advice has been a source of strength and comfort during these uncertain and chaotic times. reminded me to keep my head up, my heart open, and take life one step at a time.

What are you reading now?
Actually I am reading ‘Atomic Habits’ – an interesting and very useful book. The author, James Clear, emphasizes the importance of small incremental changes that can lead to remarkable results. He suggests that we should focus on building better habits instead of relying on willpower and motivation. The book is filled with examples of how small changes in behavior can lead to big changes in the long run.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Well , actually I am promoting “how to succeed in your Business Model ” This book is to help & support small business owners to develop a successful business model and to learn how to manage their business . Ultimately, I want to help as many people as possible to become successful entrepreneurs and to reach their goals.

I would like to reread his wonders

Interview With Author Rob Neto

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written both fiction and non-fiction books. My first book, Sidemount Diving, The Almost Comprehensive Guide was first published in 2015. After a very successful run, I released the 2nd edition in 2020. Sidemount Diving has sold thousands of copies worldwide and has been called “one of the best and most comprehensive books on sidemount diving” by InDepth Magazine. It has been translated into three additional languages – Dutch, German, and Spanish – and is currently being translated into more languages.
I published my first novel, Beyond the Grate, in July 2023. It was an instant success and has been purchased by readers in at least 15 countries. I recently completed the sequel to Beyond the Grate, Into the Darkness Beyond, which is currently in the hands of the first line editors. Into the Darkness Beyond has a tentative release date of January 2024.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book, Beyond the Grate, was inspired by the true events surrounding the disappearance of a scuba diver last seen at a popular Florida panhandle freshwater spring with an underwater cave. The diver had allegedly been getting past the locked grate and exploring the cave beyond it. His vehicle was reported abandoned two days after he had last been seen at the spring.
I was one of the divers called upon to find and recover his body. My team mate and I made it to the last restriction in the cave, some 1600 feet from the entrance and 140 feet deep, and saw no sign of him. To this day, 13 years later, no body has turned up. Beyond the Grate is one possible explanation for this.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing I’m really aware of. I’m a pantser. I sit at my desk and just start writing. I can easily push out 4-5000 words in one session. When I start writing a book I typically don’t have an outline or any idea where the book will take me. I just let it happen. I finished the first draft of Into the Darkness Beyond in about three months time. The endings to both Beyond the Grate and Into the Darkness Beyond were a surprise to me so I hope they are also a surprise to readers.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
John Grisham is the most influential. I read an interview he had years ago and he mentioned the inspiration for A Time to Kill came from his asking what if. The true event that inspired that book was the attack and sexual assault of a young girl. Her attackers were caught and put on trial. Grisham asked himself what if the father of the girl killed her attackers during the trial and he was put on trial for their murders. This resulted in A Time to Kill being written.
My books use the same concept. I find something that has occurred and ask myself what if… Beyond the Grate, Into the Darkness Beyond, and my current WIP were all conceived this way.
Also, most thriller authors. I like Harlan Coben. He really knows how to keep readers on the edges of their seats. I’m also a huge Tom Clancy fan. Although Clancy has been dead for quite some time, his legacy continues through other writers.

What are you working on now?
I’m finishing up the editing of Into the Darkness Beyond, the sequel to Beyond the Grate, as well as beginning on the next book in the series. I still haven’t settled on a title for the third book.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have my own websites but I also promote heavily on the social media sites. I use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn. I think Facebook probably gets me the most sales but I don’t know for certain.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
You’re not done once your book is published. That’s when the real work begins. You need to market yourself. Don’t be afraid to post, post, post. Don’t bother with the book groups on Facebook. My experience leads me to believe they don’t help sell books. All they do is draw the attention of the scammers to you. Market yourself creatively and build a following. That’s the only way you’ll sell books as an indie author.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t waste money on ads, at least not for your first novel. They don’t work. Free marketing will sell more books than paid ads. Be persistent and don’t get discouraged. And being writing that next book right away. Sales for your first book will get a boost once you publish your second book.

What are you reading now?
I’m in between books. But I’m about to start reading another Harlan Coben book. I’m trying something different with my third book – writing from the 1st person POV – and Coben does that quite well. So I consider it research for my WIP.

What’s next for you as a writer?
To just keep writing. I’m hoping to be able to produce at least two books a year. Three or four would be better but I’m not sure I can keep up that pace. I’m going to try, though.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Tough question. I have so many favorites. One book that really sticks out is What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson. Both the book and the movie spoke to me. They were both very good in their own rights.
The Stand by Stephen King. It took me a while to get into that one, maybe about 200 pages. Once the character and settings were established I couldn’t put it down. Definitely a great book.
Finally, I would have to look through some literary anthologies. I would want a collection of works so I wouldn’t get bored reading the same thing over and over again. I like variety.

I like to spell-check and edit as I write. When my manuscript is finished it gets one final spell-check and one final read through before it goes to the publisher.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I utilize a variety of means to promote my books, including posting links to their pages on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, etc. I also maintain a dedicated author’s website, and additionally each of my books has its own page with endorsements, awards won, reviews, etc.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Develop a thick skin: learn to face down repeated rejections, believe in yourself and your work, and keep writing and keep submitting. Ignore “critics” who only have an ax to grind and like to put others down in order to feel superior. Prepare to invest time, effort, energy, and money into promoting yourself and your published books. And keep on writing!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That the muse shows up when you do. Sit down every day and write. Put in the work of a writer.

What are you reading now?
“Travels Through Time” by Mike Ricksecker.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue to write nonfiction books about the paranormal, but I have some novels planned as well.

Mine, to remind me of the wonderful adventures and experiences I’ve had in my lifetime.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
There’s a difference between written, and published. I have written dozens of novels, mostly fantasy fiction, a few sci-fi, and one steampunk after watching a Tri-Gun marathon. Published, as of the end of 2023, I have three novels to my credit: Mountain Knight, Guardians of the High Pass, and Stone Warrior.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Stone Warrior, book one of The Wanderer series, is my latest. This book and its four sequels are a spinoff of my flagship fantasy series, the Mountain Lords Series. These books, however, have a different tone and feel somewhat akin to the fantasy fiction written by Robert Howard or Robert Jordan, or the westerns of Louis L’Amour — all inspiration for me as a writer. The Stone Warrior follows the journey of a mercenary soldier who finds himself out of a job. Offering his assistance to a young woman seeking to get home, he unwittingly becomes involved in larger events, while still trying to help his companions.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Don’t all authors have their quirks? Of mine, I think my obsession with a story, having scenes running through my head all day until I write it down, is my worst.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Easily Robert Howard is my primary influence. Other authors that have influenced me are Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan, Louis L’Amour, Stewart Binns. Books which have influenced me, first would be The Pinball Effect by James Burke — it’s a book of how invention and innovation through human history is all interconnected. My Mountain Lords Series reflects that heavily, but in regards to characters and their life events. The series starts small with just some simple stories, but the events and characters, as the series progresses, become more interconnected until it launches a world-changing event.

What are you working on now?
Book 2 of The Wanderer series, Warrior of the Red Desert. It will be my 2023 NaNoWriMo project.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Still searching for an answer to both questions. Getting noticed as an indie author is hard!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, be passionate about, and work it as hard as you do a thankless salary job, and never stop learning.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
There’s so much. I would guess … Your mind shapes your reality. Believe that you will become a great writer, work at it ceaselessly (what else are you going to do?), and it shall be so.

What are you reading now?
I am catching up on my To-Be-Read pile of books from indie authors I’ve met or talked to. I just finished a great supernatural thriller, The Soul Healer, by B. Groves. Gonna get another book by her. Before that, I was reading a Louis L’Amour western. Before that, I was reading The Fourth Phase of Water. So, rather eclectic reading list. Next, I’ll be reading the sequel to Margarito and Me, by David Kyea.

What’s next for you as a writer?
More and more books. I have a whole catalog written but not published, collecting digital dust on my computer. Gonna kick the publishing into overdrive this upcoming year.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, no question about that. Then the Pinball Effect to keep my mind sharp. And then book three would be the Art of Public Speaking by David Carnegie, which is brilliant for professional and personal development.

Heal Forward: Transform Emotional Scars into Impact is an homage to those who strive to overcome emotional trauma by channeling their energies into impact projects.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I keep pads of paper all over the house to write down my thoughts whenever they come to me. One morning I wrote an entire chapter by hand after I got out of the shower.

Wild by Cheryl Strayed; Laura Ingalls Wilder when I was very young

What are you working on now?
A sequel to The Unlikely Gift of Breast Cancer – because so many readers have requested it. Am also a few chapters into a humorous book about all the stories that made me laugh over the course of my lifetime. Many of the stories about my experiences with corporate dysfunction have never been told.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Those who follow my writing are my best promoters. A close second is my monthly blog, which publishes on the last Sunday morning of every month.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Focus on the discipline of writing, which will make you a better communicator and speaker. Hone it as a skill, not as a way to achieve notoriety.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Always do the right thing, even if no one is watching.

What are you reading now?
Various books on how to market yourself as an author.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Publish my next book in early 2025 and focus on consulting projects related to writing (grants, feature stories, award nom’s) that are now coming to me.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called “How to Understand Others Better: Getting Curious About Human Nature and Fine-Tuning Your Ability to Read People Like a Book”.
I wrote How to Understand Others Better because I so regularly hear others talking (and posting) about how the things that other people say and do perplex them – either annoy, frustrate, anger, sadden or disappoint them.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think my writing habits are unusual! Perhaps others might? I write my books in my head… bit by bit… as I go about my days. It’s only when I sit down to make a plan and organise my thoughts ‘on paper’ that I realise I have most of the structure already somewhere in my subconscious!

I like the work of Dr Michael Mosley, Andy Puddicombe, Dr Joe Dispenza, Stephen R. Covey, Thich Nhat Hanh, James Clear, David Michie… many

What are you working on now?
In our coaching business we help people with anger management issues. So, I am currently working on content to help people understand anger and how to better manage it.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a former stripper or exotic dancer if that phrase suits you better. I have always had a love of books and reading. My reading tastes took a turn for the macabre around the time I hit junior high. Because reading was such an escape from the social pressures of school, authors were like rock stars in my eyes. My heroes. And while I dreamed of joining them one day, it seemed like a pipe dream.
And then in 2015 I published my first book.
Warned as a kid in the 80s about drugs, what I found much more addicting was writing. A liberating and often cathartic activity, writing hooked me faster than any drug Nancy Reagan could have dreamed of. Currently I have published 3 nonfiction books, 3 horror novels, a horror novella, a book of short erotica stories, 4 short horror stories, and have contributed numerous articles to various online and print publications.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Colleen published by Hellbound Books LLC. Inspired by a conversation by a friend about the origins of our names, Colleen sounded like it would be a good name for a Succubus. She was flattered, I promise.
My thoughts took me to what it would be like to have a succubus as a friend, but as I looked into the origins of succubae, I discovered that they weren’t always heterosexual. And the whole thing snowballed from there. They also tend to kill their victims, so I was able to inject some dark humor as well as the implied erotica.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I guess my unusual habits, would be that I don’t have any writing habits. I have a day job, am an active advocate and volunteer and run a household, so I write when I can. I write when the ideas become overwhelming and the best option for everyone around me, is too sit down and get it all out before I become the problem.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King. Cliche, I know, but it is the cold hard truth. Lois Duncan when I was younger, but also Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman, Brian Keene, Carol Goodman, plus a plethora of non fiction authors. Penn Jillette maybe the most influential of those, due to his blunt and no bulls**t writing style.

What are you working on now?
Currently, I am letting the demons in my head duke it out for my next project. When there is only one left standing, I’ll let you know.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social media

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Your second book will sell your first book.

I am listening to Go ask Alice by Rick Emerson on Audible and My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones.

This is an unnecessarily cruel question. But I guess I might say, It by Stephen King, the Bachman books also by SK, Mister B Gone by Clive Barker, and a book about how to get off a desert island.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The inspiration for Vampire Juice comes from two sources. The first is the movie The Lost boys. And the second is the book Monster Blood by R.L Stine. After reading Monster Blood, I remember thinking, “What about vampire blood. In addition, one of the side characters is my wife.. Shhh. It is a secret.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My most unusual or not very common habit is to write my rough draft by hand. I have found that I am more creative and the writing is better when I write it by hand. When I type it on the computer, I am essentially doing the first round of edits. Only 1000 more to go.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
For me. the most influential author is R.L Stine. I love his Goosebumps and Fear Street series.

What are you working on now?
I am working on another horror novella. It may be a thriller. I am not sure yet. It is about a group of passengers who crash in Alaska and what they must do to survive. The only thing I know for sure is there is going to be a polar bear attack and cannibalism.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am horrible at promoting. That is why I am here. Who knows. Maybe someone will see this.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Save your money for book promotion. This can make the difference between selling a few books and selling thousands.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you write horror, read lots of horror.

What are you reading now?
Carrie by Stephen King. Watched the movie, but I never read the book.

Not sure. But I can not wait to find out.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my very first time as an author. I am already working on my second book, which will be in a completely different genre and is the first in what will be a series of at least three.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Shit That We Should Never Pass Along, And All That We Cannot Leave Behind, is a dramatic fictional memoir. All of the traumas in the book were ones that I personally experienced as I was growing up. However, the dramatic scenes that I built around the trauma experiences were designed to remind readers that darkness is always in some form or fashion balanced out by the light. This book is one that I think many readers and reviewers have already indicated that they are stunned by the fact that I balanced the book with dark and light in equivalent measures.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m not afraid to go into the rawest and most offensive of places. This is something that I think those who enjoy reading dark humor will find is fairly consistent about how I take on my characters’ journeys. I appreciate authenticity even if it means that a character’s nature is one that makes us angry one moment and then die laughing the very next. I’m not afraid to change up and challenge where other more traditional writers might follow the rules of writing. For example, in Shit That We Should Never Pass Along, And All That We Cannot Leave Behind I deliberately misuse the Preface of the story to allow Gina’s character to introduce where it is that she keeps finding herself with her three daughters each month. I did this because no X Generation child would ever make the mistake of not allowing their Boomer Parent to tell the entire world just how “Expert” they are when it comes to their own children. Failure to do so would’ve resulted in a very serious generational error on my end. I also deliberately use sentence structure mishaps to indicate to the reader that they are now looking at a character that’s in trauma.
As I’m writing my next book, I’ve discovered that while other writers tend to use Dialouge between their characters to slow down the action of the book, I have reversed that, and tend to use the action to slow down my characters’ dialouge.
I guess you could say that I’m a writer that enjoys breaking all of the rules of writing.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Maya Angelou, Patrick F. McManus, Ken Kesey, Flannery O’Connor, Ken Follett, Erma Bombeck, William Faulkner, just to name a very few.

What are you working on now?
I’m almost finished writing my next novel. The first in a series of three novels, I’m switching gears and moving into writing in the Historical Romance Genre. Of course, I’ll be putting my own humorous and sometimes awkward, offensive, and sometimes just downright inappropriate spin on everything.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I currently use both Instagram and Facebook to promote my book. I can be reached through either platform and would love to hear from folks who have read my first book.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Be patient with yourself throughout the journey.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I wrote a one-liner in my first book, which was actually something that my Godfather said to me when he could see that I was floundering in my mid-twenties. What he said to me was, “God will always help you. But you have to row the boat!” He swore that my mother wanted to hear this message. While timely in its delivery, I couldn’t help but laugh, because I’m from the landlocked State Of Kansas. Clearly, my mother’s ghost was struggling to find a decent metaphor. But. I still took her point.

What are you reading now?
I’m actually an audible girl these days. And, I’m into the naughty genres. I can’t find enough Historical Romances that Rosalynd Landor reads. I need authors that are lucky enough to get her to read to hurry up and write more for her to read.

What’s next for you as a writer?
My series of three Historical Romance Novels are Up Next for me.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
How long will I be stranded? Because if I’m looking at putting in time similar to Castaway, then I’ll seriously need to make sure that I’ve packed some Ken Follett Novels if I’m to avoid making any new friends named Wilson while I’m stranded.

The title of my most recent book is “World Stained Us System Blamed Us.” This book was inspired by a deep exploration of societal issues and the complex interplay between individuals and the systems they are a part of.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I do have a few unique writing habits. One of them is writing by the water, whether it’s beside a serene lake or even at the beach. The sound of water has always been quite inspiring for me. I also tend to be most productive during the early hours of the morning when the world is still quiet and peaceful, or during late-night sessions when the world is asleep, and my thoughts flow freely. These moments of solitude and natural inspiration often lead to some of my most creative work.

At the moment, I’m currently revisiting the profound poetry of Khalil Gibran, and concurrently, I’m exploring the wisdom of “Feng Shui for the Soul” by Denise Linn.

If I were to find myself stranded on a desert island with the opportunity to bring only three or four books, my top choice would undoubtedly be “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” series by Stieg Larsson. As for the remaining spots, it’s a tough decision between Dan Brown’s novels “Angels and Demons” and “The Da Vinci Code.” These gripping thrillers would keep me entertained and engaged during my time stranded.

I released my debut novel in this fall and was thrilled when it spent a couple days at #1 in Erotic Horror on Amazon. I am a disabled author with a number of invisible illnesses that make me a real life vampire—sunlight is painful, I can’t have garlic, and frequently need blood transfusions.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called Sanctuary. It’s an erotic horror novel about vampires who get blood transfusions. I began writing while I was hospitalized with a blood clot in my brain. I was so frustrated with my medical trauma

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t write sequentially. I’ll get inspired and write a scene with no idea where it’ll end up. When I have a good number of scenes written I’ll put summaries of each scene on a note card and rearrange the cards until the story feels right. Finally I go back through and edit so it’s cohesive in the final order.

I also write entirely on my phone. Frequently utilizing the talk to text feature.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Sherrilyn Kenyon is my all time favorite! I don’t use bookmarks with her books. Once I pick one up, I don’t set it down until I’ve devoured the entire story.

What are you working on now?
Currently I’m crafting a reverse harem mafia horror romance. The first book should be out beginning of 2024.

Booktok!

Interview With Author Ann Diment

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first book and i’m thrilled to have it published at last! i have had poems and other works published in compilation books and digital and printed media but this is my first solo book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
the book is called ‘Turning the Tables on Burnout’ and it was inspired by my own lived experience of breaking out of the burnout cycle using the tools and support I share in the book. As an Emotional Freedom Techniques coach I help clients reframe limiting beliefs by using the analogy of them being like a table top and the legs of the table holding up the beliefs are generally formed when we are really young by our family, our society and our experiences that lead us to form the belief. In htis book I’m inviting the reader to challenge their beliefs about being resilient and burnout so they can break free and burn brighter.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m not neurotypical, so I tend to have lots of ideas that need to get out of my head in any way they can! This could be in the form of mindmaps, dictatiing into transcription software, or pages of scrawled concepts that get shaped into more legible text as the writing process goes on. I was so grateful for my coach , the awesome Kerk Murray at self publishing school fo rguiding me through the writing process and keeping me accountable to get it writtend and shaped into a published book.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Lots! probably too many to mention here, but a few key ones are Julia Cameron- The Artists Way set me on the path to exploring my creativity that has become a career and Jon Kabatt-Zinn for introducing me to mindfulness that helped me start healing from the PTSD and be able to share my story to help others learn ways of living a more joyful and stressed life. I also love Brene Brown’s narative writing style on connecting with emotions and the human condition and

What are you working on now?
I’m in full launch mode for this book and building a collection of poems to publish as a volume hopefully in 2024. I’ve also got several new music projects on the go and a socially engaged art project happening in spring of 2024 that will generate materials for the next book ….. watch this space 🙂

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m all new to this so I should probably be asking you???

Do you have any advice for new authors?
i couldn’t have done this without teh coaching support from self-publishing school, so my advice would be to learn from other authors who have already published and if you can get a coach or mentor then do!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
oohh tough one, I’ve had a lot of good advice in my time, haven’t always followed it though!

The most useful on is this from the Dalai Lama:

Instructions for Life in the New Millennium by his holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
And that a loving atmosphere in your home
is the foundation for your life.
Be gentle with the earth,
be gentle with one another.
When disagreements come
remember always to protect the spirit of your union.
When you realize you’ve made a mistake,
take immediate steps to correct it.
Remember that the best relationship is one
in which your love for each other
exceeds your need for each other.
So love yourselves, love one another,
love all that is your life together
and all else will follow.

What are you reading now?
‘Conscious Living’ by Gaye Hendricks, ‘Start with Why’ by Simon Sinek and a whole bunch of new books by fellow authors who we’re doing launch team swaps with to support each other.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Learning from the launch process, building my burnout coaching and speaking practices and working on the next books digging deeper into the impact of adverse childhood experiences on health and wellbeing.

Interview With Author Aggrey Mokone

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born Eastern Province of Mpumalanga known as the Province where the sun rises, South Africa. Working in the South African Police services as Chief Admin. Studied at University of South Africa Refugees law level 5 and Creative writing level 5. “Death is the limit” is the first book I published with My eBook publishing company based in Cape Town, South Africa.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Death is the limit.

I am introvert and most of the time think a lot about life in general. Then decided to write books about all imaginary stories I think of when alone. That is why I write fictions, everything I write is imaginary. I will continue to write fictions that are inspiring becasue I write stories that buildup in my head with the reality of life.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I am home, I just play Hip pop music or Afro house music then open my laptop and type. At work I write anytime when I am free as a way of refreshing my mind. I never think of what to write next because everything I type is already built as an imagination. Reasearch is always important as most of the time use the existing geographycal areas or some of the events that happened before.

What are you working on now?
The book I will publish next is ready, just waiting for the right moment. Currently working on a book that will surprise lot of people. Most of the people passed in that kind of situations, well … I would say is part of growing up … passing different stages of life. Lol … I cannot wait to publish this one.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Advertising website. Lot of people in South Africa don’t read books, so I target Countries that love to read.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Is hard to write your first sentence, just know what you want to write about and open your laptop then go to work. Reasearch if you are not sure of something, people don’t want to read lies.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
My elders at Church always say no dreams are big for anyone, dream big and pray so God can make that dream possible.

What are you reading now?
I don’t have a book open on my shelf currently as I am busy with personal matters but saw a book called The wild rover.

What’s next for you as a writer?
If musicians can sing lyrics that included in the book “Death is the limit” and film producers can convert the book to a short film.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Interview With Author Abigail Mandlin

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
So far, I only have one book published, but I’ve actually written many. I even wrote three in high school! I really took the energy I had back then for granted.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Muses. Muses is/was my grad thesis, actually. It’s inspired by my own experience with my mental health and how I moved on from a dark period in my life.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always have to put my feet up. Can’t think properly otherwise. Also, if I’m stuck on a plot point or facing writer’s block, I put myself in the shower and don’t come out until I have at least somewhat of an idea on where to go from there.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
For Muses in particular, I usually cite these particular books: Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Looking for Alaska by John Green. I also credit the letters of the poet John Keats and The Iliad and The Odyssey.

What are you working on now?
Another book! It’s a secret, but I have the whole thing mapped out. Also, I regularly write bits of poetry as well.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Twitter, unfortunately. But since the platform is starting to deteriorate, I’m looking for new places.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Finished work is better than perfect work. Just finish the thing. You can always edit it later. Also, don’t be afraid to get weird with it. “Weirdness” is often the thing readers gravitate towards.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You’ll never regret being more educated. Learn stuff. It’s never a waste.

What are you reading now?
The Power by Naomi Alderman. (Still haven’t read The Handmaid’s Tale. Too much of a baby!)

What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing my next book. I’m also interested in maybe joining the publishing industry on the production side.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and Educated by Tara Westover–plus the dictionary, so I could write my own stories to entertain myself, of course.
