Interview With Author Chanell Finley
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a licensed counselor, speaker, author, consultant, and mentor. As the owner of Chanell Finley & Co., I believe that every gift I share with the world is thanks to God and my relentless faith as a Christian. I’ve authored 1 book and 2 workbooks.
As a speaker, I inspire my audiences to reclaim their voices by taking action and accountability in their lives. I use my testimony and experiences to influence other women who have excelled professionally, but may be facing challenges with self-worth, self-compassion and self-love.
I am also the owner of CF Counseling & Consulting, where I serve adult women. I have over 18 years of experience guiding others towards mental wellness.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest work is Women’s Anxiety Devotional Workbook. My niche as a professional counselor is depression, anxiety and trauma. As a licensed minister, I wanted to teach women how to combat anxiety through God’s Word and other mental health resources.

I do not.

What are you working on now?
I am currently finalizing two children’s scripture affirmations books along with companion coloring books for each.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My best method is currently via my personal website, chanellfinley.com and Amazon.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, I would encourage new authors to seek a mentorship and to do it afraid. Having a mentor, someone there to speak wisdom around the book writing, editing and launching phases are critical components to success. Know your niche, spend time with your audience, and study marketing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard would probably be ‘You have everything within you to start and finish strong, when are you going to use it?’

I am currently reading, “It Didn’t Start With You” by Mark Wolynn
What’s next for you as a writer?
My desire is to continue writing, to continue get better at it, and to continue to learn more and more about my audience.
