Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I wrote so far 12 Books and more are under way.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
the 3 generation lie, the art of manipulating history.
The inspiration behind it is the simple fact, that history does not make sense in many ways. And of course that after every war and or conflict, it is the winner who writes the history.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes I write best when I cannot sleep and in the middle of the night I get up and start writing, wake up on the couch and reread what I wrote last night which is sometimes pretty good.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Jan van Helsing, hände weg von diesem Buch. An awesome book written in German of course.

What are you working on now?
A new book called the 7 sense, forgotten powers of the human mind

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social media and classified ads

Do you have any advice for new authors?
A book is a long term project not a quick rich scheme

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The most valuable thing you have is time. Anything else is replaceable. Live without purpose is no live at all

Joel Chanaca is a two-time Global Book Awards winner, known for Humor & Heart and Hunter, the English Setter. He’s also a dedicated game warden with over 25 years of law enforcement experience protecting natural resources and wildlife. What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Frogman Puck Origins: The Rising Tides was born out of a need for heroic role models. In a culture saturated with morally grey superheroes, I wanted young readers to see characters who are actively good—whose abilities are rooted in intelligent design rather than luck or mysticism. These aren’t just superpowers; they’re manifestations of purpose: Rainforest Gripper Mode, Echo Sync, flight, Hyper-realistic amphibious gear, TENDRILS, decoys, less-than-lethal use of force modes, and more—all designed to reflect a Creator who values order, courage, and service. Writing this story has been about offering something real, clean, and spiritually anchoring for families, youth leaders, and anyone who believes purpose matters.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
You’ll often find me writing sideways in bed—laptop balanced on a pillow, dog on one leg, cat tucked under my cheek, another cat sprawled across my lap. The house is quiet, but the wild in my mind is messy and alive, and that chaos tends to be where the best ideas come.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Legends like C. S. Lewis, Jules Verne, and J. R. R. Tolkien shaped what I believe a story should be: imagination grounded in wonder, courage, and truth. I grew up reading clean, aspirational comics—these days, I want that same standard for future generations. Heroes who are approachable and inspiring, adventures that spark faith and family.

What are you working on now?
I’m finishing the artwork for the second book in the Frogman Puck series: Frogman Puck Resurgent: Turn of the Tides — Unveiling of Shadows: A Quest for Truth. Expect deeper missions, stronger elements of spiritual conflict, more artifacts, rising stakes, and just more of everything that stirred souls in book one.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
We use a mix of things: platforms like Awesome Gang, BookBub, social media posts, video content, paid ads, and strategic launches. Every platform is different, so we adapt. Genre matters, cover matters, and keywords matter. Publisher Rocket has helped me nail categories and keywords. Choosing real, relevant categories (not ghost ones) is worth more than many people realize.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Consume constantly: watch how great authors do things, study what makes stories work.

Learn to use tools (Publisher Rocket, Amazon KDP Select, BookBub).

Focus on cover design, keyword/categorization, and building relationships with your readers (launch teams, ARC reviewers).

Embrace failure—it teaches you what to adjust next.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
My grandfather once told me, “Nobody’s coming out of this life alive—make sure you’re ready and make sure that your life counts.” That’s not morbid—it’s a mission. To live with purpose, make an impact, and bless others with what God has given you. Follow Christ and give your life to Him.

What are you reading now?
I am working full-time as a game warden and writing every moment in my free time on the second book in the Frogman Puck series.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have several books done. A game warden book, cyber warriors, property protection, a cat in the Quiet Valley, and some others to release, I have to upload and publish. I have just been having so much fun with Frogman Puck that I have put that up front for the time being.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Frogman Puck.

Interview With Author Willem Tait

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Willem Tait, a writer, mentor, and consultant with a passion for helping people succeed in both business and life. I draw on decades of experience in real estate, property development, capital markets, law, and venture capital to write practical, no-nonsense books that inspire action.

So far, I’ve published 14 books and have three more completed that will be released soon. My work spans self-help, productivity, psychology, philosophy, real estate, money, banking, and capital markets. My self-help series gives readers tough-love motivation with clear steps to get results, while my business, investment, and real estate books share insights from years in the industry.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is an annotated edition of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. I was inspired by the power of public speaking and the timeless influence of historical texts. Lincoln’s words are brief but profound, and by adding commentary and context, I wanted to highlight why this speech still matters today. It is not just history, it is a reminder of clarity, conviction, and the art of communicating ideas that endure.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am not sure if this is unusual, but I do write in a conversational style and try whenever possible to avoid bullet points. I also have a habit of keeping things very direct and simple. I do not use long or complicated sentences because I want readers to understand the point right away. For me, writing is about clarity, not showing off. I focus on giving people practical value they can apply immediately, and I believe that simple words, written clearly, often carry the most power.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been deeply influenced by classic works like Sun Tzu’s The Art of War, Proverbs by Solomon, Machiavelli’s The Prince, and Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto. I love historical texts because they hold timeless lessons about people, power, and society. More recently, I find inspiration in textbooks of all kinds. They may not be glamorous, but I appreciate the clear knowledge they provide, and I am grateful to all my professors for guiding me through them.

What are you working on now?
Right now, I am working across several projects. I have completed annotated editions of Proverbs from the King James Bible, The Art of War by Sun Tzu, and Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. I am currently researching The Prince by Machiavelli and Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto for upcoming annotated versions. I am also exploring Organisational Structure and Game Theory, with drafts already completed. On top of that, I am passionate about real estate and have seven real estate books in draft that I plan to publish over the next six months.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My best methods for promoting books are through Amazon, LinkedIn, X.com, and blogging on Medium.com and Substack. Amazon gives me the widest reach, LinkedIn connects me with professionals, X helps me share quick thoughts and book updates, and Medium and Substack let me go deeper with articles and insights for my readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advice for new authors is simple: writing is the easy part. The real work comes in editing and publishing, so that is where your focus should be. Take time to educate yourself on the different publishing platforms and the legal side of things. And never underestimate the value of a great cover. Invest both time and money into professional cover design because it is the first thing readers see.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I have ever heard is simple: I am what I am today because of the things I did yesterday. It reminds me that every choice, habit, and action builds into who we become. Success does not happen overnight, it is the result of consistent effort over time.

What are you reading now?
Right now, I am reading The Prince by Machiavelli and The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. I enjoy going back to historical and philosophical texts because they still shape the way we think about power, leadership, and society today.

What’s next for you as a writer?
What’s next for me as a writer is expanding my real estate portfolio of books. I already have several drafts in progress and plan to release them steadily. I am also expanding my presence on platforms like Awesome Gang and many others so I can reach more readers, share ideas, and grow my audience across different spaces.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I were stranded on a desert island, I would definitely want to bring blank pages and a pen so I could keep writing. Beyond that, I would choose survival books to help me live and adapt to the situation. For me, staying alive and staying creative would go hand in hand.

Interview With Author Christopher Shoust

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was trained as a journalist and worked across Canada for many newspapers over 15 years. During that time I have written many novels about the somewhat surreal nature of having to be a nomadic wanderer in that career. One such novel was published in 2013 called The Beggar. The second was published in 2025 called In The Western Night. Several other novels are in the process of being polished.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
In The Western Night is my latest book. It is somewhat of an incredible story as much of surrounds a kind of perfect storm of uncertainty and terrible circumstances. But the main character ends up finding hope in all of these most desperate situations.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually write while watching old movies, using only certain pens but other than that, nothing is too out of the ordinary.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I tend to learn from a lot of what I read even if it is poorly written or of the highest quality of the craft. But what got me writing was I suppose, two people that wrote together but were very different: Kerouac and Ginsberg. Both had ways of gripping people and that is what I loved and still love. But one was a poetic novelist. The other was a prosetic poet.

What are you working on now?
I am working on another book that I have been crafting and honing over the last 20 years about the prairies.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Have a day job. Learn how to fix your own vehicle. Learn how to live on very little.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
In the context of writing there have been so many… this is too broad a question to answer.

What are you reading now?
Down and out in Paris and London by George Orwell.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I can’t see into the future.

Interview With Author Jeremy Scholz

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a new author but storytelling has been a passion. I have some obstacles, that I had to overcome. I struggled as a student an developed coping skills to get by. I was recently diagnosed with severe ADHD and Dysgraphia; It is no wonder I struggled to write. With treatments and new strategies, stories I had in my head have quickly became books. I have released 3 books so far: I Have An Idea!, The Apple and the Infinite, and Alex in the Annex.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My newest release is Alex in the Annex. At its heart, the story came from this feeling of wanting to escape. My whole life, I’ve imagined having a superpower, anything from flying to reading minds. I think that longing was connected to always knowing I was “different,” even if I didn’t know why. I could read faces, solve puzzles quickly, visualize things so vividly that I could “practice” in my head and then perform them almost perfectly the first time in real life. This book is a fun read with friendship and loyalty as a center theme.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, and most will say they are unhealthy. This past summer break I hyper focused. It is a gift and a curse, but I wrote seven days a week and sixteen hours a day. I got 4 books to near completion, and have been perfecting them to publish. Since returning to teaching, I have been getting up early to write. I wake up between Three and Five, and usually get 4 to 5 hours to work before, my day job starts.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Anne McCaffree inspires me with her amazing world building, Ray Bradbury influences my writing style as poetic and dreamlike, Piers Anthony connects with my humor, wordplay, and whimsical takes, and like George Orwell I aim for my stories to be highly readable.

What are you working on now?
The next book i’m planning to release is: Aries I – The King of Mars. As a science teacher I have used colonizing Mars as a theme to teach science concepts. I used the rocket launch to teach the laws of motion, the voyage to teach about gravity, and the harsh conditions of Mars was used to teach about homeostasis. I have had a lot of time to think about Mars, but did not want to a Martian like story. It is my first story that I plan to make a series.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t know, some days it feeling like i’m screaming into a storm. I promote on Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook. I sent emails, I send out letters, and I even sent out press releases. I am making progress but resent that marketing takes time from writing and creating.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Perfection is the enemy, reach out for help. Listen to your beta readers, trust your editor assuming you have a good one. Put yourself out there and trust in your story.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write anything, write badly, just do it! – Shari Dee –

What are you reading now?
The Yellow Bus by Jennie Durkee. She is a mentor and a friend, I admire her ability to get you to care about her characters.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Probably a creative crash, part of the positive of the ADHD is I am never at a loss for story ideas. The down side is the amount of energy I burn through. I imagine that I won’t be able to keep it up indefinitely.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Life of Pi by Yann Martel as a inspiration to survive, Lord of the Flies by William Golding – To remind me to keep my humanity. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius – for Stoic wisdom to keep me mentally strong.

Interview With Author Colin O’Neill

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Colin O’Neill. I live in Ireland, surrounded by the beauty of the County Down hills, mountains, lakes and coastline. I am blessed to be married to Nicola and we have two amazing teenage daughters. (Yes they are genuinely amazing even though they are screenagers.) My writing has evolved from writing poetry which has touched on growing up during the Troubles as well as other important issues, such as life and death, love and loss. I still write the occasional poem but I developed into writing short stories and novellas. I never published any of my writing because I never believed that it was something that any other person would enjoy reading. Writing became my private therapy and helped me deal with the ups and downs of live. I’m still not sure about calling myself an author and I guess that will depend on whether my first published work, The Seekers, does well.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first book is called The Seekers. I would describe it as an epic fantasy adventure. It tells the story of two sisters, who go looking for their friend and stumble upon a portal into an ancient Irish Kingdom which has had all life and hope devoured by an evil witch with the power of Dark Magic. It is full of action and challenges and tests the girls resolve and strength as well as their belief in each other.
Obviously being the father of two daughters, they have been a big part of the inspiration. I also work in a place called Colin Glen, a magical forest park in Belfast and this became the backdrop for the lost Kingdom of Collin Dubh. I love Irish Mythology and I have always said that more people should be aware of the stories that were borne from our own land. So I have weaved some mythological creatures and characters into the story.
The reason this book came about was because about ten years ago, having read to my daughters nearly every bedtime since they were born, we were away from home one night and I had to tell the girls that I had forgot to bring any books. So I heard those dreaded words, “Just make a story up!” I gulped, paused and started to weave a story based on the things that I knew the most about: My two daughters and Colin Glen where I worked. I am pleased to say that they were captivated by it and so after a year or so I started to write it down and now it is out in the world for all to enjoy.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I work full time so my writing happens at night after everyone else has gone to bed. I usually take the dog, Milo, on a walk in the dark along the damp country lanes. I also bring some of my characters with me. I store them as seeds in my pocket and if I need to figure out a scene, I scatter the seeds on the road in front of me as I walk and watch them flicker to life like the start of an old movie reel. Then when I get home, I just sit down and write.
I also set myself targets. I must write 1500 words a day. Its not a lot and sometimes an hour will do it but if I’m struggling with something it can take up to 3 hours and that can lead to me being pretty tired when I have to get up and go to work the next morning.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are many inspirational Irish authors, including James Joyce, Joseph O’Connor but also the poet Seamus Heaney. Most recently I have just completed the three Donna Tarte books. Her ability to describe emotions and situations would be the closest to Joyce that I have read. I would recommend anyone who enjoys description which ignites your imagination to read her work.

What are you working on now?
I am nearly finished writing the second book in the Chronicles of Collin Dubh series. I am aiming to have it completed by Halloween and get it away to my editor. It will take a few months for revisions and Beta reading so I would hope to have it out by the start of summer ’26

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Hopefully Awesome Gang. My book is currently only available on Amazon but I am currently working on broadening that to include Ingram Spark and others. Being Self Published, I am open to any advice that anyone is willing to offer. It is hard to promote a book!!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Well I’m too new to have any real words of wisdom but for anyone starting, the best best advice is get a great editor, who you trust. I would also recommend just writing the manuscript without editing. Do it as quickly as you can so as your whole outlook on life and on writing has little opportunity to change and therefore influence your writing. When I wrote my first book, it was obvious that I had written a bit then took a break and came back to it. Compared to the parts which were written on a daily basis, they were nowhere near as good. And those intermittent parts required the most amount of editing and reviewing.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just write now and edit later.

What are you reading now?
My Father’s House by Joseph O’Connor

What’s next for you as a writer?
I will complete the manuscript for book two in the series and aim to have that published within the next six months. I will probably begin to plan out book three and of course ensure that I am maximising exposure for book one.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would just bring one. Ulysses by James Joyce. If I am not rescued by the time I finished reading it then there’s a good chance that I am not going to make it!

Interview With Author John Biscello

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an author, poet, playwright, screenwriter, director and performer, whose multi-disciplinary tastes and interests inform and influence each other, and frequently interweave. One of my abiding passions is creatively working with youth, and I am the founder and director of the Taos Youth Ensemble, a theater company, serving students from grade school to high school, in creating productions for stage through a six-month program, and summer theater camps. I have published five novels, two poetry collections, and two children’s books.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The title is The Last Furies, and the inspirational wheel began its initial turning over twenty years ago, when I was reading the poetry of French Symbolist poet, Arthur Rimbaud, and biographies detailing his life. At the time, I began writing what was going to be a play titled, Abyssinia … a fragment of which survived, and was included in The Last Furies. Over the course of the past twenty years, different ideas and themes and characters began attaching themselves to this work on Rimbaud, which grew in different directions, and into something quite different from its original conception. The final form is a hybrid novel, combining different forms and genres (screenplay, play, letters, musical prompts, narrative), or a literary work of fusion which offers a spectrum of conversations between realities.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not particularly. I still write longhand in my notebooks which is, perhaps, quickly on its way to becoming unusual (or antiquated).

What authors, or books have influenced you?
So, so many, over the course of my lifetime. I will list ten major literary influences and inspirations: Haruki Murakami, Henry Miller, Patti Smith, John Fante, Patrick Modiano, Clarice Lispector, Raymond Carver, Samuel Beckett, Julio Cortazar, and Roberto Bolano.

What are you working on now?
I am working on different shorter pieces, interconnected under the title: Vanishing Points. I’m not sure what it will evolve into, but the idea of “disappearances” or “vanishing” is one of the guiding tenets.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My blog also functions as a website, with links to all of my books, plus many other categories and catalogs (containing reviews, interviews, excerpts, videos, performance clips, etc) represented there.

My fifth novel, The Last Furies, was just released, and I will be doing reading/book-signings and promo for that one. My sixth novel, No One Dreams in Color, will be released in April of 2026 (Unsolicited Press).
