Interview With Author Bastian Silva

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello, my name is Bastian, and I am a writer of dark fantasy for young adults.
I have written several stories that I ended up deleting because I didn’t consider them good or coherent.
So, in 2020, I officially launched myself on the Inkspired platform and then with a publisher.
I have currently published two books in a trilogy that I am finishing and self-publishing. After that, I would like to write another Dungeons and Dragons-style trilogy.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The last book, which is the second part of the epic saga of the ancients, is called The Legend of the Ancients.
The idea is that each book narrates the emotional growth of my protagonist, and it is precisely in the second part that he meets new characters with whom he forms a bond and ends up becoming a complete hero.
It is the legend of Kevin Strathman and his struggle to end a cruel sect.

What inspired me was that I am not very emotionally open with anyone due to terrible social experiences, which caused me to be socially withdrawn.
So it basically helped me to feel better and to continue on this path of literature. My stories speak for me.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My unusual habit when writing would be listening to music while I write, I think.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Several authors and books influenced me.
The first was C.S. Lewis with his Narnia saga, which helped me get involved in fantasy and adventure sagas.
The main author who inspires me is Tolkien. I also like history and ancient cultures, as well as writing good battle scenes with epic touches.
For the moments of horror and folk horror that I use in my saga, I was influenced by Edgar Allan Poe and peasant tales.

What are you working on now?
I work on a dark and epic fantasy saga for young adults called The Epic of the Ancients, with touches of folk horror.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The best method is to search for book promotion websites, pay for Amazon ads, and reduce the price of the book for a week while it is in KDP Select.
I also post on Reddit, Deviant Art, and Facebook, although Facebook is more saturated.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
My recommendation for new authors is to enjoy your creative process. To begin with, write because you enjoy doing it.
If you don’t have support at home, then ignore them and keep going, because your hard work will be rewarded, and that’s where you see people’s true colors.
It’s a process that is both frustrating and beautiful at the same time, with quite a few ups and downs.
In my case, I went through this process alone, but with my fever.
Do this with fever, and you’ll see how many more doors will open for you.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice was not to publish with a publishing house, and honestly, they were right. It was a mistake to do so.

What are you reading now?
The book I’m reading is Raimondo the Squire and the Puppet of the Omnigods

What’s next for you as a writer?
The next step for me as a writer would be to finish the series I am writing and join the Chilean Writers’ Association, where I could teach creative writing.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Without a doubt, The Children of Húrin, The Hunger Games, Jurassic Park, and One of Scottish Myths.

Interview With Author Carla Saunders

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Carla Saunders, and storytelling has always been at the center of who I am — whether through film or the written word. I’m an independent filmmaker turned author, passionate about creating deeply emotional, character-driven horror stories that stay with you long after the final scene or last page.

I’ve written and produced multiple short films, many of which explore psychological tension, grief, and the supernatural. My debut horror novel, The Silent Cries, brings those cinematic instincts to the page — blending atmosphere, emotion, and fear in a way that feels both intimate and unsettling.

I write stories that force readers to look twice at what feels familiar, the home, the family, the reflection in the mirror, and ask, what if something is hiding beneath it all?

The Silent Cries is my first full-length published work, but it’s the beginning of a growing body of horror stories I plan to share under my creative banner, Carla’s Tales, a space dedicated to psychological and supernatural horror written from the heart.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“The Silent Cries”
The inspiration for The Silent Cries came from my fascination with the hidden struggles people face-the battles they fight in silence. I’ve always been drawn to stories that explore the human psyche and the things we often don’t say out loud. I wanted to give a voice to those silent struggles, to create a story that resonates emotionally while also keeping readers on the edge of their seats. For me, it was about exploring fear, resilience, and the strength it takes to confront what we often hide from ourselves and others.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’d say my writing habits are pretty spontaneous. I don’t sit down with a strict plan or outline — I write when something strikes me emotionally or feels too unreal to ignore. Most of my ideas come from real-life moments or thoughts that spark a “what if” scenario in my mind. I take those feelings or experiences and build stories around them, almost like translating emotion into atmosphere. It’s all very instinctive — I write what I feel, when I feel it.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Honestly, I wouldn’t say any specific authors or books have influenced me. My inspiration comes more from real life – emotions, moments, and the things that people don’t talk about but deeply feel. I’m driven by atmosphere, human psychology, and the unseen forces that shape our reality, rather than by the work of other writers.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently in post-production for HER, a psychological horror–thriller limited mini-series that blurs the line between self-reflection, obsession, and betrayal. In addition, I’m developing my first theatrical horror play, another feature film project, and an anthology horror–thriller series—all continuing my exploration of atmospheric, character-driven storytelling.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Right now, my best method of promotion is word of mouth and social media — especially Facebook, Instagram, and the support of friends and family who help spread the word. I’m grateful to have a solid support system that genuinely shares and celebrates my work. The Silent Cries is my debut book, so I’m taking things one day at a time, learning as I go, and allowing the process to unfold naturally. There are definitely more books on the horizon, but for now, I’m focused on enjoying the journey and connecting with readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advice for new authors is simple: just do it. There will be setbacks, and sometimes people or circumstances might try to discourage you – but never stop believing in yourself. You’re capable of doing anything you put your mind to. Every mistake is a lesson that helps you grow stronger and better with time.

Start where you are, educate yourself, and surround yourself with like-minded individuals who inspire and challenge you to be better. When you’re around that kind of energy, growth becomes natural. Keep pushing, keep learning, and remember – the sky is truly the limit.

And no matter where you are spiritually, remember to invite God into your journey. There will be times when you feel like you don’t have it in you to write or to keep going. Lean on Him, ask Him to carry you through, and trust the fire He’s placed inside of you. Use that fire to pursue what brings you joy, fulfillment, and purpose. With God guiding you, nothing can stand in the way of your dreams.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard is: ‘Focus on what you can control, and let go of what you can’t.’”

What’s next for you as a writer?
What’s next for me as a writer is to keep creating and pushing my boundaries. I plan to continue writing while also producing my film projects, exploring new stories, and growing as a creative. My goal is to keep honing my craft, telling stories that resonate, and bringing my vision to life both on the page and on screen.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three or four books, I’d choose ones that would inspire me, challenge my mind, and keep me engaged no matter what. I’d bring:

A classic novel, like To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, because it’s timeless and full of wisdom about humanity and resilience.

The War of Art by Steven Pressfield, to remind me to keep pushing through creative resistance no matter the circumstances.

A spiritual book, like You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, for guidance, hope, and affirmations to keep my mindset strong.

And finally, maybe something thrilling like The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson- because a little suspense would make island life a lot more interesting!

These books would keep me inspired, motivated, and entertained no matter how isolated I was.

My name is Sam Riley, and I’m a wellness dietitian and nutrition researcher dedicated to helping people heal naturally through food and lifestyle changes. Quick Fix for Fatty Liver is my debut book, inspired by years of working with people struggling with fatty liver, weight gain, and low energy. I wanted to share practical, science-based steps anyone can use to restore their health naturally.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Quick Fix for Fatty Liver: Heal Your Liver Naturally with Easy Food Swaps and Home Detox Tips for Better Energy and Weight Loss. I was inspired to write it after meeting countless people who were told they had fatty liver but didn’t know what to do next. Many felt scared, confused, and overwhelmed by medical advice that seemed too complicated to follow. I wanted to create a simple, comforting guide that explains what’s really happening inside the body and shows how everyday foods and habits can make a huge difference.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write early in the morning when everything is quiet and my mind feels clear. I usually start with a cup of green tea and soft background music to help me focus. I also keep a notebook nearby to jot down new ideas whenever inspiration strikes even if I’m in the middle of cooking or walking.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been influenced by several great authors who focus on health, wellness, and natural living. Books by Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Michael Greger, and Deepak Chopra have inspired me to approach health with both science and compassion. Their work showed me that healing the body isn’t just about medicine it’s about lifestyle, balance, and mindset.

What are you working on now?
I’ve just finished my next book about Intermittent Fasting and how it can naturally support weight loss, boost energy, and improve liver health. It’s a follow-up to my previous work, focusing on practical fasting schedules, meal plans, and science-backed tips that anyone can follow. My goal is to help readers build healthy habits that last a lifetime.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is my first time using AwesomeGang, but I’ve heard great things about how it helps authors reach more readers. I’m excited to see how it goes.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write from the heart, not just from knowledge. People connect with authenticity, not perfection. If your book solves a real problem or inspires hope, it will find its audience. Stay patient, stay consistent, and never underestimate the power of your words.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard is: “Progress is better than perfection.” It reminds me to keep moving forward, even if things aren’t perfect yet.

What are you reading now?
Right now, I’m reading How Not to Die by Dr. Michael Greger. It’s an inspiring book about how food choices can prevent and even reverse disease.

What’s next for you as a writer?
My next goal as a writer is to publish more health and wellness books that focus on natural healing and simple lifestyle changes. I want to build a collection of practical guides that help people take control of their health.

Interview With Author Annalisa Ordell

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi I’m Batman…

Wrong bio. I categorically am not Batman, the outfit doesn’t fit. I am however a writer and author from Wiltshire in the UK. I work as a Teaching Assistant at a school for special needs children. I also volunteer to run a creative writing group on a Friday for a mental health charity.

I have published one book called The Sky Painter under my previous name of Annalisa Jackson. I have another being published next year called In The Land Of The Boogaloo. My future works I am hoping to bring out are a YA fantasy book, loosely called Cariad, an adult crime novel called Blackwood’s Reckoning and another children’s book called Arty’s Animal.

Between those books I am writing, editing or promoting I am kept busy but I am also a Mum to two teenagers. When I get five minutes to myself I enjoy building Lego.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My current book: In The Land Of The Boogaloo, coming out next year by Pegasus Publishers, started out as a poem I wrote in my writing group that gradually took on a life of it’s own as it underwent numerous drafts. Its a fun piece, kind of a cross between Julia Donaldson and Dr Seuss. It’s all about escapism and using your imagination.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really unusual. I often write in bed with my laptop on a lap tray. I also usually have more than one project on the go because I get bored easily. So when I am losing my thread with one I can switch focus. Eventually I come back round to the first one.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m a massive fan of the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. He was so funny, I can’t read his books out in public because of the giggles. I also enjoy John Grisham, I love a good crime novel.
Dr Seuss is a big influence on my children’s books and writing in general, I enjoy nonsense and silliness. I have tattoos of Dr Seuss creations down the entire length of my right arm.

What are you working on now?
I have a crime novel called Blackwood’s Reckoning in the first draft editing stage. I also am currently about 10500 words into a YA fantasy book called Cariad. The world building is taking me as long as the writing. And I am looking for an agent or publisher for a children’s book called Arty’s Animal

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
As a children’s writer I am ringing schools to see if they want me to come and visit the school to read to the children. I’m also looking to speak to the local library. And I am on the sites like Goodreads and, of course, Awesome Gang

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Develop a thick skin. Its easy to feel protective over your work but it will be dissected and need rewrites and redrafts, you will get feedback on your writing and it isn’t always easy to hear. But it’s being done so you can write the best book you are capable of. Keep thinking how great it will be when you see your name in print

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Your book is not your baby. And to get it published you can’t treat it that way, you need to be open to feedback. Of course if you are self publishing you can write what you like but it’s still worth having ARC readers and listening to what they have to say.

What are you reading now?
The Bonnie Dead by Andrew Raymond, a scottish author. I love a bit of mystery/crime

What’s next for you as a writer?
I would just like to see my book available on a bookshelf in a shop rather than being ordered through a website

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Definitely any of the Discworld books or John Grisham. No sparkly vampires please

Interview With Author Z.N. Cruz

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write stories from the timelines most people only dream of; the ones just to the left of memory, where love lingers and time bends for the right reasons. Rebirth is my debut, the first Episode in The Zepherous Chronicles, and the beginning of a larger universe that spans novels, short fiction, fashion, art, animation, and podcasts. I live in West Hollywood, but my stories come from somewhere further: between realities and across memories, for anyone who’s ever felt like the world wasn’t built for them.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Zepherous Chronicles Episode I: Rebirth.

The inspiration came from a single idea that time doesn’t break; it remembers us all. I wanted to explore how grief, nostalgia, and forgiveness can reshape the way we see reality. The story grew from the feeling of being caught between childhood wonder and loss as an adult, and from the question: what if the moment you tried to forget, or change, was the one that defined every version of you across all realities?

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to write late at night, when the world is quiet enough for the echoes between realities to speak. I also build playlists; soundtracks that match the mood of each chapter. For Rebirth, I listened to 80s and 90s film scores while editing, to capture that nostalgic, cinematic rhythm.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Ray Bradbury for his poetry of memory and Madeleine L’Engle for her courage to make the impossible human. However, most of my influences come from television and cinema, with much props going to Christopher Nolan, for his emotional architecture of time, loss, and the lengths we go to for catharsis.

What are you working on now?
I’m deep in the full-length novel The Zepherous Chronicles Episode II: Cantera, which expands the mythos and explores the consequences of the fracture that began in Rebirth. At the same time, I’m producing The Echo Between Realities, a podcast that blurs fiction and my own philosophy through short transmissions.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Everything begins at zncruz.com, which serves as the archive of The Zepherous Universe. I also share transmissions and visual fragments on Instagram and Pinterest: short, cinematic glimpses that draw readers into the world rather than just the book. My team and I are hard at work on zepherous.com , which will feature the entire Zepherous Universe in one place, including all art, merch, podcasts, books, and much more to come.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you can’t stop remembering. The story that haunts you is the one that will haunt others. Don’t chase trends; chase truth. And even if you believe no one will ever read it, it’s worth writing if only to reach one single soul: yours.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Time doesn’t heal. It only teaches us to live with what we have lost and can never regain.”

That line became the emotional core of everything I’ve written.

What are you reading now?
I’m revisiting The Time Traveler’s Wife and Klara and the Sun. Both capture the ache of human connection through speculative lenses, which is the kind of storytelling I live for.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Building The Zepherous Universe into a full multi-media experience: fiction, visuals, and audio woven together so readers can not only read it but inhabit it.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and a blank journal; because even on an island, stories find their way out.

Interview With Author Shivam Singh

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m the founder and CEO of Cent Capital, a FinTech company using AI to solve financial anxiety. My background is in high-stakes tech, where I led generative AI strategy for Fortune 100 companies at Amazon Web Services (AWS). It was there I earned the nickname “The Beast of Bay Area” for my intense, systems-based approach to problem-solving. This is my first book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is “Forging the Beast of Bay Area: My Journey from AWS to Cent Capital.” The inspiration came from a desire to codify the strategic playbook I developed at AWS and apply it to a more meaningful mission. It was sparked by seeing a brilliant colleague struggle with basic financial stress despite a six-figure salary, which reminded me of the stories my grandfather told about financial insecurity. I realized the biggest unsolved problem wasn’t a corporate workflow; it was a fundamental human one.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My writing environment is a minimalist desk with a single monitor, and my most productive hours are before the city wakes up. I almost always write while listening to deep focus playlists, usually instrumental electronic or cinematic scores, which helps me architect the narrative and arguments like a system.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
“The Art of War” by Sun Tzu is foundational for its lessons on strategy and leverage. “Thinking in Systems” by Donella Meadows provided a framework for deconstructing the complex problems I tackle in business. And Andy Grove’s “High Output Management” has been a crucial guide for its pragmatic approach to execution.

What are you working on now?
Right now, my primary focus is on execution—applying the very principles detailed in the book to build Cent Capital. The book is the “what” and the “why,” and my work now is the daily “how.” I’m leading my team to build our “data moat” and create the world’s most powerful Financial Large Language Model (FinLLM) to make personalized financial guidance accessible to everyone.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My best method is leveraging the direct relationship I’ve built with my audience over time. My Substack newsletter and podcast are my most powerful promotional tools because they are communities built on trust and shared interest, not just algorithms. For direct sales, platforms like Gumroad and Itch.io are fantastic because they give creators more control.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Treat your book like a startup. Before you finish the manuscript, start building your distribution channel—an email list is non-negotiable. Understand your reader’s “pain point” and write the solution. Don’t just write a book; build a system around it with a clear mission, a defined audience, and a direct path to reach them.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“It is not the critic who counts… The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.” It’s a quote from Theodore Roosevelt that I used as the epigraph for my book. It’s a powerful reminder that execution and daring to build are what truly matter, not the commentary from the sidelines.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading “The Sovereign Individual” by James Dale Davidson and Lord William Rees-Mogg. Its predictions about the impact of technology on society and finance are more relevant now than ever.

What’s next for you as a writer?
My immediate future is focused on building, but I plan for my next writing project to be a series of deep-dive case studies drawn directly from our work at Cent Capital. It will be a more tactical look at the challenges and successes of applying the “Beast” methodology in the real world.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius – For maintaining the right mindset.
2. “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu – For strategy in any environment.
3. “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman – To understand my own decision-making biases.
4. “The SAS Survival Handbook” – For pragmatic reasons.
