About Backline
Music isn’t just a passion—it’s survival.
For Zara Hale, the world behind the stage is the only place she’s ever truly belonged. After years of chasing spotlights and running from her past, she finds herself on tour with one of the fastest-rising rock bands in the South. The road is messy, loud, and unforgiving, but it feels like freedom—until feelings she swore she’d buried start to surface again.
Enter Jax Carter, the band’s magnetic and complicated frontman. Their chemistry hits like a power chord—undeniable, electrifying, and dangerous. One moment he’s her comfort, the next he’s a storm she can’t escape. Loving him feels like music: raw, consuming, and sometimes painful. But with old wounds, new fame, and an industry built on illusions, Zara must decide whether she’s chasing love—or losing herself trying to feel worthy of it.
Amid backstage politics, late-night writing sessions, and chaotic tour life, Zara fights to honor her dream, navigate toxic expectations, and hold onto her identity in a world where everything—including love—comes amplified.
Backline is a fierce, vulnerable, and soul-stirring rock-romance about healing, self-worth, and choosing yourself—even when the spotlight tries to blind you.
