Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi! I’m 14 years old, and I’ve written two books so far, one of which is on Amazon, and the other is a word document on my computer! I write because I enjoy it. It gives me a chance to forget everything and just focus and the characters in the book. I get my love of writing from my dad, who’s also a writer.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest book I’ve released is my first, it’s called “Last 13 days of my life.” I guess I just wanted to show people that not everyone’s life is as perfect as you may think, and sometimes you have to make the effort of looking deeper than the smile that nay be painted onto their face to see what they’re really going through and maybe try to help.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I normally tend to the think of the ending of my books before the beginning.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My dad has influenced my writing a lot, although he hasn’t published anything yet, his work has really inspired me.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on my third novel after taking a break for a little while from writing.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Promotion is something I’m struggling with for my books at the moment. I guess word of mouth and social media would my best methods.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just go for it. Start the book, and keep going. Do a little a day, it’s better to do that than write a ton of pages and then not touch it again for the next few weeks. Never be afraid of constructive criticism and always keep trying. Believe in yourself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Believe in yourself.
What are you reading now?
A book by Cathy Bramley, ‘The Lemon Tree Cafe.’
What’s next for you as a writer?
Promoting my first book as much as I can and writing my third.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Lemon Tree Cafe, Cathy Bramley. Pilgrims Progress. Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson and my Bible.
