Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Beau Salts, and I was born and raised in the sunny south of the United States. I am a male registered nurse full-time, and writing has always been a strength. Made A’s in English college essay classes, and professors really liked my work. I engage in quite an active lifestyle, between work, exercise, writing, and many other pursuits. This book, “New Dad Words OF Wisdom” is my first published work. It’s a heads-up to first-time dads on the rudiments of newborn care, from the unique perspective of a male registered nurse. I’m pretty sure that being an RN professionally, and simultaneously a man would qualify me for the nontraditionalist category. 🙂
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
NEW DAD WORDS OF WISDOM: YOUR ROADMAP TO SUCCESS FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR NEW BABY
This creation actually originated in my first year of nursing school. We were required to write a project on the topic of pregnancy, newborn care, etc. I chose to write mine on caring for a new baby, from the dad’s perspective. A couple of years later, I decided to take that project and greatly expand it, which is what I have done in this book. More research was done, and more chapters were added to the original version.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When writing about medical/health topics, I am obsessive about providing medically reliable/accurate information. However, I like to add a bit of fun to my writing as well. I don’t particularly like dry medical or health writing, and I think it would be a travesty to force such boredom on my readers. 🙂
