Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
For my day job I am a computer programmer. I have self published one Children’s book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my book is: The Case of the Missing Poodle, a Detective Ducky Story. When my son’s were younger I used to tell them bedtime stories. We have a stuff animal duck named Ducky. So my boys would always ask me to tell them a Ducky story. So I would make up different funny stories. One night a hat was put on Ducky’s head and they asked me to tell them a Detective Ducky story. This book is based off one of those stories I told them so many years ago.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I write when I feel inspired.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have really been enjoying John Flanagan lately. I really like the way he writes.
What are you working on now?
I write a few technical articles each month. I have some ideas for additional Detective Ducky stories. I also have a few ideas for some novels. I guess we will see where my inspiration leads.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Still working on this. I will let you now once I figure it out.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write and write some more. It does seem you really do get better with practice.
Read good authors that you enjoy their style. There is nothing like enjoying a good book.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I guess I haven’t heard it yet.
What are you reading now?
I am going to re-read The Tournament at Gorlan.
What’s next for you as a writer?
If I can find the time and the motivation, I am considering writing a longer book. It is amazing how hard it was to write a short children’s book. I guess for a longer book I probably need a good editor.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Bible,
Ranger’s apprentice: The emperor of Nihon-ja
