What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“What to Expect when having Expectations”
One day I figured out that the only reason anyone ever gets upset is because an expectation hasn’t been met. From there I built out a flow chart on how to get over being upset and using the upset as a trigger to find peace. From there is was an easy transition to getting the book written.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to write the book in my head and sort it first and then just start writing. It never comes out correctly the first time, but it is a pretty amazing way to start.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Oddly enough, sci-fi writers are my favorite. I have a hard time reading other self-help books because I feel like the other authors make it too hard. So, I guess other self-help authors influced me to make it quick and easy.
What are you working on now?
Procrastination (TM)
It is about the magic created where procrasinating and patience meet.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon first and foremost. Then my book site (havingexpectations.com)
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just do it. Get your book out there. Even if one or two people buy it, you have created something that will last for centuries.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just start. (pretty much every great person ever)
What are you reading now?
Sci-fi books when I can. Been reading so many that I am now just waiting on new releases.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Promote, promote, promote
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Silo trilogy by Hugh Howey. I’ve already read it twice. Would probably enjoy it again and again.
