Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I decided to start writing after many years of learning and experience that spans religion to science to every day living. I was a Christian, in upbringing as well as practice as an adult. Many years afterward, an entire world had opened up to me that I was unaware of. The world of other methods of spirituality, as well as the world of science. I have written one book thus far, and am working on a series.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The title to my latest book, the second edition, is “The Life of Benjamin Samuel Brasford.” It is the beginning of a series entitled, “The Work Series.” Work to mean you doing the personal work of taking charge of your own life with other assisting as you choose to allow, instead of allowing others to be within the driver’s seat.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My writing habits are not necessarily unusual. My focus is a bit more academic though I work within narrative style at times as well. I found that subjects related to certain sciences are boring to many so, presenting them in story form seems to work a bit better.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been influenced by many an author. Some of the most influential authors were Horace Butler (When Rocks Cry Out), Carroll Quigey (Tragedy and Hope), Ludwig von Mises (Human Action), Richard Elliot Friedman (Who Wrote the Bible?), D. M. Murdock (Suns of God), Bart D. Ehrman (Forged), The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi, and Erik Iversen (The Myth of Egypt and its Hieroglyphs in European Tradition).
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on the second volume of the series. It will be much larger than the first. It is an expansion of the sixth (6th) chapter of the first book. It will go into detail about what I had learned along the way, showing the progression of learning through the differing schools of thought. It will culminate to where i am now in my growth and learning.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Currently, I utilize my blog in conjunction with Twitter for my book promotion.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
New authors should obtain the books of authors that gives tips and solutions from what those authors learned. They should watch YouTube videos of many authors who create content to share their experiences. New authors should utilize social media as much as possible, as well as establish and maintain a blog. Finally, new authors must be patient and realize that building an audience takes time.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice that I have ever heard was to be patient and never stop working. Anything worth having is going to take time and effort.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading Human Action by Ludwig von Mises. He does a brilliant job of showing the relationship between economics and human nature.
What’s next for you as a writer?
What’s next for me as a writer is to get more into story writing while educating as well, with a less academic tone.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
When Rocks Cry Out, Tragedy and Hope, The Rational Male, and the Holy Bible.
