Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing for years because I enjoy it, I never intended to write a book then a friend who read some of my stuff started encouraging me to give it a go, that’s when I started writing everyday and eventually ended up with a collection of poems that I think are good enough to share. This is my first book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The title of the my book is Terminal Frivolity: A Collection of Poems, it was inspired by the life of a good friend.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I used to sit outside the pub people watching and write about the different characters I saw, also writing in the notes on my phone so anytime an idea pops up I capture it.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
John Cooper Clarke, WB Yeats, Charles Bukowski
What are you working on now?
I write everyday I usually have a few poems on the go, some turn out well some go in the bin! I’m also promoting Terminal Frivolity.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Bknights on Fiverr for a free e-book promotion went well so I’d recommend them.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
As a new author myself I think the most important things are not to get discouraged, and don’t compare yourself to other people.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you know about and keep it simple.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading The Odyssey again.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll just keep writing everyday ๐
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
