Interview With Author Bharat Bhatt
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
been a workaholic working 90 plus hours a week in apparel factories all my life.
the apparel we wear seem to be just pieces of clothing to most of us, but we do not realize the engineering aspects involved in the making of these apparel.
this made me use my experience and learning through my work career and made me write books with a focus on the technical side and the correct way to make garment and apparel patterns and the correct way to sew.
my first book is about the human anatomy and the beauty of the human body proportions which play a vital role for the fit of any garment.
my second book is a detailed how-to book which describes with lucid illustrations the method of how to sew a shirt.
the third one being written now is on the lines of the second book which describes with lucid illustrations how to sew a trouser.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
the latest completed book is called ” how to sew a shirt” the inspiration came from the numerous videos going around on youtube which describe different operations of sewing a shirt but not completely. i thought a good job was needed to comprehensively describe with pictures and technique, from start to finish, of how to sew a shirt.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
i am picky about what i write and visit and revisit what i do write, edit and re-edit till i find that what i have written is simple and easy to understand for the person reading the book.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
no one in particular for the kind of books that i have written.
What are you working on now?
working on a book which describes in full completeness and lucidity, how to sew a trouser.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
i am hoping awesome gang fits this bill, since this is my first time writing and promoting my book.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
i am new myself so i am not really qualified to give advice, but i would definitely say sincerity counts in anything that anyone does. one has to be 100 percent sincere to any task one undertakes.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
begin with the end in mind, work backwards.
What are you reading now?
i am learning software and have a book lined up for my course i intend to do.
What’s next for you as a writer?
sharpen my skills as a writer, my blog called fabricapparelsource.com needs more regular blogs and promotion.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
i would read fiction :
the comedy bible
the day of the jackal
the marathon man
would make my list.
