About Black & White by Erol Rashit
Discounted from August 28, 2024 for one week.
Well versed in the wisdom of ancient teachings and aware of the need to experience reality for himself, Igor nevertheless struggles to project his situation onto a suitable map. For him, a simple or direct path seems unlikely.
The deeper he delves into the death of a young man, the more he becomes embroiled in the activities of Los Angeles criminals – and the more he becomes the focus of a police investigation himself. If this were an old Western movie, the heroes and villains might almost be wearing white and black hats respectively. Then again, the hats could be misleading: Igor’s appetite for polyamorous relationships is not exactly respectable; nor is his willingness to match the brutality of those he seeks to outwit as he immerses himself within a web of deception and violence.
Confronting racism, transcending duality: Black & White is a contemporary Western novel, incorporating more than a touch of the East.

Author Bio:
Erol Rashit was born in London. He studied ecology at the University of Liverpool and obtained a PhD from the University of London for research into the effects of environmental disturbances on the structure and dynamics of ecological communities. During a period as a photographic artist, he had several solo exhibitions, but these generated little in the way of income. Eventually, he resorted to paid employment, qualified as an accountant, and for several years held the post of chief accountant at Imperial College. Having made enough money to fund his future (modest) requirements, he withdrew from the “rat race” in his mid-forties in order to concentrate on his main interest: techniques for examining the illusion of the “ghost in the machine” and for tracing consciousness back to its true source.
