Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
As a New England native I am no stranger to cold weather and enjoy warming up by packing my romance novels with a lot of heat. I enjoy literary characters that are full of spunk with a touch of attitude.
When I’m not writing I enjoys binge streaming horror movies, painting with acrylics, and devouring novels.
I currently live in Vermont with my four children and adoring husband.
I used to write erotica under the pen name Akira Brooks, and have many short stories and novellas published under that name.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Essence of Desire (Book 1 in the Desires of the Myth Series) is my latest book. I am a huge fan of paranormal romance and really wanted the chance to flesh out characters and story lines beyond what erotica flash fiction allows.
My characters were all inspired by people I know, especially their attitudes and sassy retorts.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My biggest unusual writing habit is probably music. I need to have it blaring loud. It helps me focus. silence does the opposite for me, my mind wanders to places unknown and has a hard time fining its own way back.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Kresley Cole, Stephen King, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lindsay Sands
What are you working on now?
I am working on Wicked Desires (Book 2 in the Desires of the Myth Series.)
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook. I would love to branch out beyond that but right now that is where my most active fan base is.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. It might get tedious, you might get some harsh critics, but roll with it. Embrace it. Use it to fuel your writing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You can only write regularly if you’re willing to write badly… Accept bad writing as a way of priming the pump, a warm-up exercise that allows you to write well.
What are you reading now?
The Guardian by Sherrilyn Kenyon
What’s next for you as a writer?
Working on books two and three in Desires of the Myth
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King
Wilderness Survival for Dummies (Some one must have written this)
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
