Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Oh lord, where do I start? I’ll do the easy question first – I’ve written five books and one was even published by Kensington Books. Also did a cool children’s book that sold actually well. As for me? I grew up in a horrible town where my only safe place was programming on the computer or playing D&D with the few people who’d admit to being players. Went to college, dropped out because my counselor said it wasn’t worth my time so I went on to start my tech businesses, clothing companies, magazines and even a makeup company.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Airith – The Kentilan Wars. This book is actually my way of dealing with many issues within my life from when I was a child to a young adult. For some reason, all these scenarios turned into a movie in my head and characters started to form and the plot just grew and grew. So in 2012 after my Christwire Book, I sat down and started writing, released it, but due to my dyslexia and other learning blocks, the book didn’t come out as I wanted it. For the seven years after that, I spent every day writing notes, brainstorming and building a story which turned into 400 pages of brain dumb…So now, I’ve been slowly digesting it into a ten part book series.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wake up at 3am with a list of ideas that I jot down into my ‘brain dump’ folder almost every day.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Believe it or not…I do not read books. I have horrible dyslexia and have a learning disability when it comes to reading.
What are you working on now?
Book numero two in the Airith Sage.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I personally message influencers I think would enjoy my book. I send them a book, a custom made piece of clothing based on the book and some other cool items. The current book I even did a soundtrack (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXJkdB6Vjwg).
Do you have any advice for new authors?
It isn’t about the sales, it is about the story you’ve introduced into the world.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The grass isn’t greener on the other side, you’re just doing a shitty job with your own lawn.
What are you reading now?
mostly memes.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan on taking English and creative writing classes at the local CC.
