About Butterflies and Paratroopers Are Not Born with Wings: A Recovery Guide to Being Happy, Joyous, and Free by Milo Martin
“You gotta buy it. It’s a riot.”
Butterfly turned paratrooper isn’t easy. Neither is recovery from alcohol, drugs, people, food, or whatever.
This is not a regurgitated recovery book. It’s funny. One-of-a-kind. And it’s not a self-help book. It’s an operator’s manual. It trains alcoholics, Al-Anon, codependents, overeaters, drug addicts, and whoever else has an addictive personality with a smidge of OCD or dusting of ADHD how to operate the most complex, prone to breakdown, out-of-warranty piece of equipment ever made—that’s you.
Developing a new philosophy requires clarity of thought. And the clarity of thought comes from knowing who you are? Why you are like that? And why it’s important to change?
With a lighthearted iron fist in a velvet glove, Milo trains a butterfly to be a paratrooper. How? “We used to think one way, and now we think another.”
Be you an alcoholic, drug addict, overeater, codependent, or whatever, this book will not only solve that problem; it will train you how to live life on life terms one day at a time.
If you are ready; the time is right. Put your jump boots on ladies. You’re going to Sober Paratrooper School.

About the Author
Milo Martin is a retired Army First Sergeant with more than thirty-three years of continuous sobriety. He received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Hampshire and Certificate of Graduate Studies at Harvard. A former paratrooper, air traffic controller, and auxiliary nuclear reactor operator, he was “in the room” when women first broke into these traditionally male roles. While serving in the army, he completed the Addiction Counselor Education Program at Boston University, and, besides being a First Sergeant, served as a substance abuse and suicide prevention NCO. Now as a tired, old, bald, grumpy, and dumpy white guy, he shuffles between New Hampshire and Texas going to meetings with his Irish Setter, Madaline.
