Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a former scammer turned activist. Educating people about romance scams is my passion. I am an avid writer, but this is my first published book. I obtained my BA in Political Science from Simpson College in Indianola, IA and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In my free time, I run my blog Romance Scam News. I now reside in Kansas with my husband and two cats.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called Homegrown Romance Scams; What they are, How they Work and How to Avoid Them. I felt a calling to turn around my past and use it for something useful. I found out that people on the dark web are selling guides teaching people how to scam. When I found out about this, I was disgusted and became determined to do something to educate online daters.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if it’s unusual, but when I write it has to be done the old fashioned way on pen and paper first. After writing it with pen and paper, then I type it on my computer.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My favorite author hands down is Steven King. I was influenced by books in general. As a kid, the library was my favorite place to go. I could spend hours there just hanging out with the books. I’m still that way; I just love books.
What are you working on now?
My next book is going to be a romance/horror/thriller.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never stop, do what you love.
What are you reading now?
Right now nothing, I’m just too busy to read at the moment.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Great Gatsby, 1984, Gone With the Wind and The Dark Tower series.
