Interview With Author Cadmium Antimony
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a 17-year-old writer from Egypt who has a profound passion for storytelling. My journey into writing began through poetry and school assignments, igniting a spark that led me to create three books. Additionally, I’ve authored three captivating Kindle Vella stories, exploring diverse avenues of storytelling. Currently, I’m working on my fourth book, eager to delve deeper into the world of creativity and imagination.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book, titled “Look Down Below!”, is actually a sequel to my previous work, “Puissant”. Originally, I hadn’t planned on creating a sequel, but as ideas flooded in and new chapters emerged, I couldn’t resist. Before I knew it, I was fully immersed, dedicating myself to this new journey. The writing process was intense—I succumbed to the creative pull and completed the book in just over a month, fueled by the sheer momentum of inspiration.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
One of my rather quirky writing habits involves reading aloud with different voices for each character. It might seem a bit unconventional, but it’s my way of getting into the minds of my characters. By doing this, I immerse myself in their personalities, making their dialogues more authentic and vibrant. It’s a fun and effective technique that really brings my characters to life on the page.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
When it comes to my writing, I take inspiration from authors like Anthony Horowitz and Ernest Cline. Their work is incredibly engaging, and I admire how they captivate readers with their storytelling. I strive to provide a similar immersive experience for my own readers. Studying their styles and techniques motivates me to create compelling narratives that draw people into the worlds I build. They’re definitely a significant source of inspiration for my writing journey.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I’m crafting the third and final installment of my series, “Born to Be Heroes”. The pressure’s on, as it’s scheduled for publication before March this year. It’s an exciting yet challenging phase, weaving together the concluding threads of the narrative and ensuring a satisfying culmination for the readers. The countdown is on, and I’m dedicated to making this finale an unforgettable one for the series!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never look back and work hard. Giving up is never worth it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
David Goggins’ “Don’t focus on what you think you deserve. Take aim at what you are willing to earn.”
What are you reading now?
“From the Earth to the Moon” by Jules Verne
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m constantly in the world of writing! As long as there’s a spark of a plot idea, I’ll be diving into my next project. For me, it’s about the ongoing journey of storytelling, exploring new concepts, and bringing fresh narratives to life. So, expect more from me as I continue to create and share new stories with the world.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Mysterious Island, Robinson Crusoe, Around the World in Eighty Days, and Journey to the Center of the Earth
