Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Oh boy. I’ve written…countless books. Or, maybe I should say, started countless books. I’ve finished about twenty, I’d say. I have the Nightwalkers series released on Amazon (a very Buffy-esque series). It was the first series I’d ever written, with my original babies. I write it all: steampunk, fantasy, urban fantasy, dystopian, sci-fi. Really, anything except contemporary. And it’s all usually YA or NA.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A Mark Unwilling, coming out May 1, 2018, is my latest work. It’s inspired by my love for action, with a hint of romance. I love snark, so had to add some of that in there, along with some characters you don’t know if you should trust.
I think, if you read it, you’ll also realize I was heavily influenced by Xena when I was younger.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I sit and let the words come out. No pre-plotting, nothing. And usually, marring a few plot holes that I can fix later on, the characters take hold of the plot themselves. No outlines for me. Ever.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I really enjoyed Black Beauty when I was younger, though I read almost anything at our school library.
What are you working on now?
The second and third book of the Reckoning trilogy will be released this year, too.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Like my plotting skills, I just wing it.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Every day. Just write. Even if you’re stumped. Write. Force it out and keep going. You can always go back to it later.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Whoever eats the fastest eats the mostest.
What are you reading now?
A book about faeries.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a trilogy of thrillers I’d like to release soon.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That depends if I took the books to use for a fire, or to read them….LOL.
For reading, probably the first Maximum Ride book, the first Harry Potter book…for the fire, a certain long story about vampires that I couldn’t finish.
