Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my debut novel, although I have been writing stories since I was eight years old. I dreamed of being a romance novelist, but I admit that I didn’t quite have the courage until now.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
What Broken Dolls Do was inspired first by the Women’s March on Washington. It was the most amazing experience of my life. I saw all those strong women and was reminded of the amazing women in my life. They go through life with a smile on their face, but inside they are broken.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write to opera.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read an astounding amount of books. I can’t really pinpoint any particular author that has influenced me, except for ALL of them.

The sequel to this book. I want it perfect.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My husband is my best promoter. He is so proud of me.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Do it. Don’t wait for the right time. Write everyday even if it ends up in the trash bin. Read everything!

Dress as though you were about to meet your worst enemy.
What are you reading now?
The Heart’s Invisible Furies
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to finish the sequel and make it as wonderful as Dolls.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
