Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written One book and working on the second one
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
In the Arms of a stranger. It was inspired by my own life. I went through a very difficult phase of life where everything that could have gone wrong seemed to go wrong. After fighting depression and almost going insane, I was able to experience Gods grace in my life and I can now mentor others that are still stuck “In the Arms of the stranger (The Devil)”
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write a lot when I am feeling emotional, be it excitement, sadness, Confused or simply dreamy, when I started writing I had no idea I could be considered a writer. I was probably about 7. In my mothers house were pieces of papers everywhere with my thoughts. When I feel Inspired I write, whether its a song or a piece of my thoughts.
In my house, that’s still the same case!
When I get the writing bug all I want to do is write. If I have nothing to write on I will scribble on tissue paper, on business cards back pages, I will write on any blank surface. When a thought comes in my head it has to be written, most times its not meant for anyone to read, I may be trying to clarify my thoughts, may be clear them, maybe confirm them, and other times just affirm them. I am just writing to me, or sometimes to God
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Francine Rivers- Scarlet thread, Redeeming love (Literally all Francine rivers) , Loren Cunningham-Is that really you God, John Maxwell-Think of these things, TD Jakes_ Woman Though at loosed, Corrie ten boom- Passion and Purity/ The hiding place, Teresia Wairimu Biography, Robin Sharma-The Monk who sold a Ferrari, Robert Kiyosaki-The Bussines of the 21st century and others
What are you working on now?
A new book which is a serial of ‘In the arms of a stranger’ I am not very sure of what the title But I am levitating between “When the enemy wont let you go” or ‘Just in the arms of a stranger 2″
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
www.carolinebongo.com and especially Facebook and my WordPress blogs. People love following me because I guess I am funny, and takes life easily even when sharing very serious inspiration. Because they love my writings they automatically want my books
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advise to new authors is first of all to keep writing, even when it seems like no one is reading. Its impossible that the whole world will like your style. But there are those that will really love what you do. Those are the ones you will need to find and keep. And finally when you start writing, don’t stop
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
When I was torn between focusing and prioritizing between my career and my hobbies (Writing, speaking and Music) My Uncle said to me. Your divine destiny is that which you can do if all your bills were paid and you didn’t have to make money. Straight away I knew what I would do if it wasn’t money I was trying to make: Write, speak and Sing
What are you reading now?
John Maxwell: Talent is not enough
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to get into professional blogging, and possibly convert these into printed books for the non digital generation. I want to share all that I have gathered over the years. Its the legacy that I can leave for my Children, Their Children and all my generations that will be here when I will be long gone
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Probably all Francine Rivers Books! Seriously. But I would take a few Biographies that I haven’t read yet.
