Interview With Author Chad wannamaker
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m writing from Denver, Colorado. My preferred genres are sci-fi, horror, and urban fantasy. The ability to entertain through stories is important and brings joy, as I have been writing since sixteen years old. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and have a Masters of Clinical Psychology from Mercer University. In addition, I went on to become a Registered Nurse. My other hobbies include football, martial arts and hiking.
“For me, writing is a mental release, plus I enjoy being able to entertain through stories.”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It is in preorder status, but it’s called, Obsidian Tomorrow:The Storm. It was inspired by a dream I had years ago. It just came to me one day while I was driving across country for work.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
The only usual writing habit I have is procrastination. I will plan to write for hours in a day, and then finally sit down only to write a few hundred words.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Lee Child, and Silas House.
What are you working on now?
The next book in the series of the current work.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The best seems to be Amazon ads and Google ads. They are the only ones that lead to actual sales.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. I have many unfinished and partially done stories. I just keep adding to each as I go, and don’t get discouraged. Any day with at least one word written is better than one with no words.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Honestly, I never got any advice related to writing. It was a personal venture and I never had anyone give me a best way to go about it.
What are you reading now?
The Steve Young autobiography.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m hoping for good sales with this series, and get a few book signings in the future.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Jack Reacher books 1,7,9 and Clay’s Quilt
