Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written just this one book. I have edited and formatted 5 books for others. 20 year USAF fighter pilot including flying the F-4 in combat in Vietnam. Also, 20 years in other DoD agencies.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Low and Fast: Memories of a Cold War Fighter Pilot.
I sat down one day about 3 years ago and thought about my 73-year life.
I realized that it made an interesting story that others, especially those thinking of or participating in aviation or military might want to read or hear. Also, my two daughters started telling me to write down all my flying stories while I still remembered them, because they want to remember them.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No, but maybe that is unusual.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
After reading several similar books, I decided that chronological order worked best. Also, I did not include any exaggerated or imagined events and avoided salacious material.
What are you working on now?
Hardcover version
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon Ads gets several times it’s cost in sales.
Also, attending events and meetings where military aviation is the main topic
prepared to speak and sign books has resulted in many sales
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Start writing, then start thinking. It will flow soon.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t give up.

Archeological mags and videos.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Helping my wife edit, format, and load to Amazon her children’s books.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
All US military survival manuals and a “book” of matches.
