About Children of the Godhead by Diane Margo Penny
King David asked the question: “What is man, that thou are mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him” (Ps. 8:4)? Mankind is still seeking answers to this age-old question. With the use of scriptural reference, Children of the Godhead answers this age-old question by providing some amazing facts about God and his relationship with the saints of God.
God chose the people of Israel to be his special people and separated them from the other nations of the world. However, the children of Israel rebelled against God by disobeying his commandments and rejecting the words of his prophets. The primary message of the Holy Bible from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation is God’s desire to be reconciled to his people. To save his precious people from destruction God devised a plan of salvation that would reconcile his people to him. Through his son, Jesus Christ, God would extend himself to mankind.
The mission of Jesus Christ was three-fold. Jesus was to sacrifice his life for the sins of mankind; be the means through which God sends the Holy Ghost to mankind, and establish the Kingdom of God on earth. As Jesus takes his last breath on the cross, he said, “It is finished.” After three days, Jesus was resurrected having all power in heaven and in the earth. Jesus Christ was the first extension of the Godhead in the earth.
Jesus Christ returns to God after his resurrection and God combined his spirit with the ghost of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost was born. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God and the ghost of Jesus Christ. However, the Holy Ghost does not operate of itself. It is a gift to mankind that only operates through mankind. The Holy Ghost is the second extension of the Godhead in the earth.
To have the Holy Ghost, mankind must complete God’s plan of salvation which requires repentance of sins; baptism in water for the remission of sins; and receiving the indwelling spirit of the Holy Ghost. The indwelling Holy Ghost establishes a connection between the human and divine spirits.
The Holy Ghost operates through the saints of God empowering them to fulfill God’s will and purpose on the earth. The answer to mankind’s continual quest for spiritual identity can be found in John 14:20 which reads, “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” Through God’s plan of salvation for mankind, the saints of God are reconciled to God and are children of the Godhead.
