Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m an IT Project Manager by day, and an explorer of the Ko’olau Range on O’ahu, Hawai’i by weekend. In between all that I write novels! My first series, “Takers,” consists of four books. I’m also currently publishing another series under a pen name and have two other series pending plus am involved in researching yet another series!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The “Takers” series was inspired by a series of events. First, I fell in love with the rebooted “Hawaii Five-0” TV show and its star Alex O’Loughlin intrigued me. In looking at other things he’d done, I watched the short-lived TV series “Moonlight” and shortly after finishing that, the hero of “Takers” appeared to me and said, “Let’s do this!” Thus, I suddenly became a writer of vampire books!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often listen to Solfeggio frequencies and/or binaural beats via ear buds when I write. It makes me very productive.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Trevor O. Munson’s original novel “Angel of Vengeance,” the book which inspired “Moonlight,” helped a lot in trying to find a voice for my hero.
What are you working on now?
A series being published under a pen name plus two more that will also be published under pen names. I only am publishing under other names because they are completely different genres.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far I haven’t found the best one. ๐
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up, no matter what does or does not happen with your first book. Just keep writing and putting it out there.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Have a really good editor and a professional-looking book cover.
What are you reading now?
Believe it or not, the missing books of the Bible. It’s research for a new series. ๐
What’s next for you as a writer?
More research, more writing, and always lots of hope!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
anything at all by Lindsay Buroker
anything at all by J. Thorn
anything at all by Stephen King
