Interview With Author Christopger Wager
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi
My name is Christopher Wager a writer living in Raleigh, NC with my wife and son( the inspiration for the book). I am 56 yrs old. I have been writing for 18 years, mostly news, , and interviews. Also I have written three books total. Tow how-to books and one fiction novel. Writing is a love I discover later in life.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Stow Away, What inspired me to write was my son Ben. It was 8 years in the writing. When Ben was young he was ill, and had to stay in. So, we decided to keep him busy we would write a story. And little by little he and I put it down. Now Ben is well and we would like to share our story with everyone.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, there are time I write with Fleetwood mac Rumers playing as loud as it can. And I like to lay the whole book out on index cards on the floor. So I can see every moment.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Captains Courageous: A Story of the Grand Banks is an 1897 novel by Rudyard Kipling
What are you working on now?
A story about a family forced to go west during the dust bowl and great depression, until the other book this story with a storage female role, you could say the main actor.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Awesome Gang of course.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, write because you love it, all writing, have something to say. And expect to be told no, but never, ever give up.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don't put your actors to bed at the end of a chapter.
What are you reading now?
I read about 5 or 6 books at a time, funny thing I never read fiction. There a stack of books next to my seat in the living room.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Continue to bring Stow Away to the world and to see if there is a second book in me. See if I can capture that passion I had writing it. That book took me 8 years to finish. I am hoping to type a little faster.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
History, history, and philosophy, and a playboy.
