About COLORS OF ENVY: A Paranormal Romance Mystery by J. K. Grueber
One fatal farming “accident” in a rural town shouldn’t be a newsflash.
But Veronica Bryson’s nose for news catches the scent before the second dairy farmer dies. Gifted with a sixth sense for violent crime, she waltzes her urban attitude to the country in search of a budding serial killer, and her suspicions are soon verified with the presence of the FBI. Despite the warnings of her former flame, an FBI profiler, Ronnie is soon matching wits with the number one suspect. With his intense green eyes and cynical arrogance, Isaac Bently, the local antique dealer, raises more than her journalistic antenna . . . and she can’t shake the feeling of familiarity. Whether he’s the Pitchfork Slayer or a killer of another kind, something dark is brewing inside him, and illumination could be lethal.
Haunted by his past, Isaac has denied his inherent psychic talents for years, but the black-haired witch sashaying into his haven threatens to destroy his resolve. Not to mention his anonymity and serenity. With glimpses of the past and flashes of the future shaking his mental and physical balance, he’s drawn to the light enshrouding Miss Investigative Journalist, Ronnie Bryson. She is both a lodestone and his Achilles heel. For her safety and his sanity, he must break an oath, but whether he can delve deep enough into the dark arts to save either of them from a killer remains as elusive as his past.

Author Bio:
The influence of rural living radiates throughout J. K. Grueber’s novels, as she was born and raised in a small town in Western Pennsylvania. Even though she lived within spitting distance of Pittsburgh, most of her escapades involved farm country and horses—a lifestyle she continues to embrace. Presently, she and her husband, Steve, live on a small horse farm in Northeast Ohio, where she tends to twenty-plus Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds along with two Great Pyrenees, a dozen ducks, two dwarf goats, and a plethora of cats.
Although she has been writing for several years, she’s only begun publishing her novels in the past two years and hopes to share many new adventures in the coming months.
Currently, she divides her time between writing paranormal mysteries (with a heavy dose of suspense), breeding, training, and racing Thoroughbreds (which has shaped the twists and turns in The MacDade Brothers Mysteries), and visiting the occasional haunted domicile. Whether a graveyard, hotel, castle, landmark, or ancient house (one of which she owns), she enjoys treading that fine line between fact and fiction and enjoys taking others along for the ride.
