About Curandero by R. L. Mosz
“I have lost all confidence in myself as a human being.”
So writes 27-year-old Stefan Campeau in his journal after an unexpected twist of fate leaves the high-flying journalist terminally ill.
After abandoning failed traditional treatment, an embittered Stefan escapes up the coast to the scenic town of Acantilado del Mar where he plans to live out the remainder of his life on the beach with his faithful dog, Rebel.
He befriends the beautiful Samantha, who agrees to take Rebel when he dies, but she, in turn, introduces Stefan to her neighbor, the mysterious Dr. Miguel Calderón, a.k.a. ‘the curandero.” The alternative doctor convinces Stefan to begin treatment with him, and as Stefan uncovers shocking truths about himself, his transformation has unexpected consequences for those around him.
“Curandero” is a powerful story about the value of life, no matter how long or short it may be.
