Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello there.
I was born in Hackney, East London and after my formative school years, I then went on to study, live and work in a number of countries.
For example I lived in Cyprus, Denmark, Portugal and Spain, to name a few countries, and I have also travelled extensively around the world from the Far East to the United States.
My studies led me on to study psychology, philosophy, and the human mind on a deeper level, and as a qualified psychotherapist, I have helped hundreds of people over the years over come any difficulty in their lives.
My background led me on to writing self-help and personal development books so that I could help as many people as possible around the world.
To date I have five published books and my sixth book is now complete, and will be released in 2017.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I have just released my fifth book entitled The Secrets of Connecting and Understanding which is aimed at helping the reader develop more successful relationships in his/her life. The book contains many new ideas, principles and techniques to help the reader develop more meaningful interactions with others whilst at the same time building on levels of empathy and sympathy to create stronger bonds and greater emotional understanding of human behaviour and interaction.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing too extreme really.
I usually make sure I am pretty relaxed when I write and I am fairly disciplined when I write and when I go over ehat I have written…
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to mention really.
Before studying Psychology, I also studied English literature at school and college, so I read many of the classics, and many famous authors as well.
It helps to study literature in greater detail as you develop a greater understanding of writing styles, and the different rhythms writers use in their poetry or fiction / non-fiction books.
What are you working on now?
As mentioned, I have finished book six in my series, and my goal is to write at least ten books in this series…
After writing a manuscript, you need a lot of time to read through it, correct certain things and maybe rewrite some sections. It really is a Labour of love for me though, and I love writing personal development and self-help books.
For me it is a very cathartic process as I have to think from a higher level to write what I do.
I know the readers will love my latest instalment as I have had a lot of positive feedback already!!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
There are many different ways to promote yourself and your books. Most of it is trial and error so you really need to figure out what’s best for you…
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep going no matter what and learn to love what you do.
Constructive criticism is okay, but don’t take things to heart and don’t get discouraged.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t wait…
Life goes by quicker than you realize….
What are you reading now?
I am now reading…
My manuscript for my next book!
This is the hardest part of writing as you aren’t as creative in this process. You have to carefully read through checking for typos and better ways to write everything…
Other than that, I also read many other things for inspiration and knowledge.
Educating yourself is a continual life long process.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue writing no matter what..
It’s important to have… a passion in life, and its important to stay motivated.
I aim to write at least ten books and then I will take it from there.
I also fancy writing other genres so let’s see… time will tell
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would bring only one book…
It would be about how to escape being stranded on a desert island!
