Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I have a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God.
So far I have written 2 Books and am in the process of editing book 3 and working on Book 4.
Based in Tasmania, Australia, I am committed to building the Church locally as well as Globally. Through varying degrees of involvement both in leadership and supporting roles of ministry and missions organizations, I desire to see the Body of Christ develop and grow into the unified and powerful Church that Jesus spoke about.
As a father to 7 incredible children and husband to an amazing wife, I have been blessed to see the power of the Word have an enormous effect on my own home and life. With deliverance from many health, financial and physical situations, Kylee and I are a living testimony to the power of the Gospel and the unfailing promises that are found in God’s word.
I provide Daily Teachings on my blog and Youtube Channel to ensure that people are getting fed daily with the Word of God… because Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God! (Romans 10:17)
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called ‘The Greatest Faith’ and it is inspired by the account in Matthew 8 of the Centurion who met Jesus and asked him to heal his servant. Although Jesus was willing to go to the man’s house, he stopped Jesus and said ‘Only say the word and it shall be done!’
That was BOLD Faith.
Knowing that only speaking the word was all it would take.
This book is a call for all of us to look at the promises in the Bible and rise up to the challenge of taking God at his word, and believing that it will come to pass.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nope. Just normal ones like keeping a stock of Chocolate and hot coffee on my desk while I play focus music.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have definitely been influenced by numerous amount of authors, that it would be impossible to list them all. John Maxwell has been a big player though as has Ken Blanchard. Leonard Ravenhill’s book ‘Why Revival Tarries’ is probably my most read book on the shelf beside the Bible.
What are you working on now?
The book is called ‘Victory of Anxiety’ and it is a look at dealing with Depression, Anxiety and religious baggage that keeps many Christians defeated. Having dealt with it in our own home for over a decade before we discovered the power of the Word. Also working with other people to assist them with the tools and answers that we found in the Bible, this book is a look at many of the religious ‘beliefs’ that are more traditions and man-made rules than anything else. It’s these things that keep people defeated and powerless.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon ads have been the best method so far. But I am certainly looking for more.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Get started. Don’t get overwhelmed by the process.
Sit down with a pen and paper and create a ‘mind-map/brainstorm’ where you put your main idea in the middle, and then create 3-5 points coming off the middle. These are your main ‘points’ in the book. Break each point into a further 3-5 subpoints and you easily have 12-25 chapters to write about.
Now, just open a text editor (the simpler the better) and start writing out what you worked out above. Don’t try and format it or edit it, but rather just start writing and see what comes out, then you can edit it afterwards as you connect all the subpoints together.
Add your intro, and you have a book ready to go!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!
In regards to writing…
Don’t try, Do!
What are you reading now?
I never learned to doubt – Jesse Duplantis
What’s next for you as a writer?
Get working on promoting my next book.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. The Bible (It goes everywhere with me)
2. A book on How to find food on a desert island
3. A book on simple boat building
