Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I wait tables at a bar called Tin Lizzys in Duluth, Ga. My main background, though, is in Atlanta. I know much about the club/strip bar scene there.
Whiskey, Blood, and Magic is available on Kellan Publishing and I’ve just started the second draft on Bonding Weekend. I’m sitting on two other handwritten drafts.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Whiskey, Blood, and Magic was inspired by my rock star fantasies and love of Atlanta dark city life.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I love candles and drink an enormous amount of coffee.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite and Silk by Caitlin R. Kiernan have really inspired me. I’ve read everything from Clive Barker to Laurel K. Hamilton, though.

Bonding Weekend. In Whiskey, Blood, and Magic, rock singer Jake Reece must go through his Awakening and face succubus Ariel Celique. Now, in Bonding Weekend, he track down a drug dealer who has inadvertently killed a violin virtuoso with whom he was obsessed.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Oh, I use urban fantasy facebook sites for the most part and my personal website: Https://www.davidchylde.com/
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Take your time writing your first book. It is like a relationship. And learn how to write query letters and promote.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Stop drinking and partying.
What are you reading now?
Ghost Story by Peter Straub.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Just promote the hell out of Whiskey, Blood, and Magic and get Bonding Weekend written!
