Author Bio:
Raquel is an advocate, philanthropist, author, speaker, photographer, and avid hiker currently living in Valencia, Spain.
Raquel graduated with a double degree in Psychology and sociology from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, where she later returned to complete a master’s degree in psychology. Always desiring to lend a voice to the disenfranchised, Raquel has worked for many years in the field of social work: advocating, teaching, coaching, supervising, program creating and directing, barrier-destroying, and raising the quality of a multiprogram multimillion dollar nonprofit, as well as helping many other agencies improve their quality as team leader for the Council on Accreditation. As a sought-after speaker, she has lent her expertise in several conferences around the United States. She has also created and coordinated statewide conferences on matters dealing with leadership, equity, disabilities, trauma-informed care, communication, inclusion, and high-quality program creation and delivery.
Not being one to shy away from difficult topics and wild opinions, her next books tackle “light-hearted and simple” subjects such as love, dreams, and relationships.
When not delving deep into the minds of people all over the world and contemplating the mysteries of the universe, Raquel enjoys photography, hiking, and cooking/baking, and you can often find her enjoying nature.
