Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi. I am a romance author and have written two novels published with The Wild Rose Press. I have another one under review. Fingers crossed.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Staking A Claim was inspired by the 27 years I lived in Alaska. It’s about an advertising executive intent on making a travel brochure for visitors to see the state. Her intentions are good, but not all Alaskans like the exposure.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. I write with my Minature Pinscher on my lap. She helps keep me focused.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
All the greats…Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux, Mary Balough. The list goes on and on.
What are you working on now?
A historical western set during the gold rush in San Francisco.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I find word of mouth works for me. I love talking about my books because I am so connected to the characters. I also have a Facebook author page and website.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Write. We all are busy and no doubt life gets in the way, but write a little something everyday.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do your research. If your facts aren’t spot on, you could lose a reader. And nobody wants that to happen.
What are you reading now?
I’m going back to the old bodice rippers of the 80’s. They’re hard to find. Currently I’m reading To Love a Rogue by Valerie Sherwood.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’d like to be able to write full time so I’m focusing on that. But I do have a book signing event coming up which will be my first. I’m extremely excited about it.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That’s a toughie because I love to read. Julia Quinn because she makes me laugh. Joanna Lindsey. Nora Roberts. Jude Deveraux.
