Interview With Author Don Sedei
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a contemporary writer and artist based in Plano, Texas.
Raised in the Rust Belt in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, I studied at the prestigious La Roche University in Pittsburgh, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and design.
After graduation, I immersed myself into the world of advertising, creating original ideas for some of the world’s largest brands that opened many new doors, including my ad agency built on the mantra: ‘Every brand has a soul. But not every agency has the heart to find it. We do.”
I love the ad game. I thrive on the agony and the ecstasy of fearless creativity. When you’ve been around the ad game as long as I have, nothing scares me.
If you want to know how it all started, consider going to donsedei.com where you can view samples of original ideas created for brands you know and those you never heard of
That same commitment to fighting the disease of mediocrity earned me national and international awards, including the one I am most proud of, the induction into La Roche University Distinguished Alumni Circle for my excellence and lifetime achievements.
Likewise, that background has exposed me to a collection of unique experiences that informed my belief that today’s audiences are adrenaline junkies looking for an original, entertaining, and unpredictable tale taking their emotions on a rollercoaster ride.
That ride continues in the world of writing the Kachada Trilogy: The Emotional and Moral Struggle of an Assassin. In this action-packed thriller is where the unlikely tale of two parallel universes—the chilling ancestral traditions of the Comanche tribe and the ruthless code of the Sicilian Mafia—mysteriously intersect.
From my lighter side the lighthearted urban fantasy, Tale of Bronco & The Wizard is about friendship, football, and wizards. Bronco and his friends discover that the game of football is not in the hands of the players but in the hands of some powerful wizards. This magical story will leave readers with their hearts full.

That same passion for original perspective can be found by exploring Artist on the menu bar. Art By Design is a playful study of color, texture, and composition of original digital works of art.
I hope you enjoy the ride.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
THE END? Hope is the Enemy Evil Fears Most. It is the last book of the KACHADA TRILOGY inspired by the real events of a close friend who asked me to write his story after he passed away from cancer. I embellished his life story into an original, entertaining, and unpredictable action-packed thriller that will rest on the backside of your eyelids at night.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I find myself enjoying writing in the first person. The readers discover twists and turns along with the same perspective as the protagonist. I style of writing that creates a very thin line between reality and fiction for the reader.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I prefer not to read other authors when I am writing. It is important to keep my work free of any outside influences. Odd I know…but I write to entertain myself. If I do that, I then know others will enjoy the final published novel(s). When I am finished with a novel I read one to maybe two before I begin the next. The last book I read was Elmore Leonard’s CITY PRIMEVAL. I enjoy the honest street-style dialogue that is not PC others might find offensive.
What are you working on now?
I started a concept five years ago. I love the attitude and perspective I am writing it from. Based on Plato’s, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.”
A frame novel written about lost souls who learn first-hand that one misstep can lead you back to the devil’s doorstep of the HOLLYWOOD CLUB. Where the journies of the strange are welcomed. I promote it as a modern-day version of the TWILIGHT ZONE.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am a newbie in this world of writing novels. I have discovered it is important to not be shy about promoting work you feel good about. I have found sites like Awesome Gang to be a great way to connect to the community of readers in my genre by providing insight about authors. It allows those interested in what I publish to engage in future novels.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Write for yourself. Writing is an art form. Artists must please themselves. Writing to please your audience is sure to lead you down the road to mediocrity. My opinion.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you don’t dream it. It will never happen.
What are you reading now?
Nothing at this time.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a list on my website of what I have in the works. Visit https://www.donsedei.com/
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Deep Survival, U.S. Army Survival Manual, Special Forces Survival Guide, and something outrageous: A Confederacy of Dunces.
