Interview With Author Donald Rice
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Donald T. Rice and I am an Author and Self Publisher. I’ve written and Published 5 books. 3 are children’s books. 1 is a short story book and the other is a street-lit urban fiction novel.
I was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is titled: “THE ADVENTURES OF BENNY THE BRAVE”. It’s a children’s book. What inspired me to write this book was the urgent need for Parents to share it to their children…where within the book the story urges children from the ages of 3 to 8 to listen to and obey their Parents and put their education first.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No. I’m motivated by life happening around me. Life as I see it unfolding everyday.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Authors that influenced me are James Patterson and Donald Goines.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on another urban fiction novel. Which will be due out sometime in early-mid 2026.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use all social media sites, my Amazon Author page, and Meetnewbooks page for promotion.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes. Keep writing. Think outside the box and keep giving your audience your best.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That’s a good question. I think that would have to be to stay focused and always give the World the best version of yourself.
What are you reading now?
Just a lot of inspirational stuff. Things that motivate me online or in social media. No book currently.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To write movie scripts for all of my fiction novels so that these stories can be seen on the big screen.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The first book would be the Holy Bible. That would keep me saying until I can get rescued. The second would be a Map of the World. So I could learn where I was and try to figure out how to get away from being stranded. And the last book would be the one I’m working on so I can finish it up while stranded.
