Interview With Author Donna Morris
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Donna Morris—bestselling author, minister, international speaker, marriage mentor, and mindset coach. Born in Jamaica, my mission is to empower individuals to break free from limiting beliefs, fear, and self-doubt so they can walk boldly into their God-given purpose.
As a teenager attending high school, I made a personal commitment to become a Christian and serve the Lord. That decision laid the foundation for everything I am today. The purpose of God is being fulfilled in my life daily, and I remain thankful and grateful.
For years, I struggled with a scarcity mindset, weighed down by fear and self-doubt. But one encounter with God’s Word radically shifted my perspective and launched me into a journey of purpose and transformation. Since then, I’ve watched the Lord do amazing things in my life—and I remain humbled by His grace.
Leaving my comfort zone led me to invest intentionally in myself. I pursued marriage mentorship through the Institute of Marriage and Family Affairs, deepened my biblical studies, and completed an online course in 2021. That same year, God orchestrated the release of my first book—Moved to a New Mindset: Free From Limitations, Rejections, and Fears.
Since then, three additional resources have been published to support mind renewal and personal growth:
Moved to a New Mindset: 21-Day Devotional – Encouragement for the Transformed Mind
90-Day New Mindset Journey
New Mindset Sermon Notebook
Each one serves as a practical and spiritual tool to help others renew their minds, embrace transformation, and walk in victory.
It’s been an awe-mazing journey! As part of furthering my growth, I also received coaching from Millionaire Motivator Coach Crystal Daye, which equipped me for the entrepreneurial path. Today, I am a sought-after speaker and coach, sharing on both local and international platforms. Glory to God!
Now, I’m shouting VICTORY and standing firmly on Psalm 118:23 — “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.”
I celebrate the goodness of God in my life and remain deeply thankful for my loving and supportive husband, our wonderful son, and the kingdom family God has placed around me. To God be all the glory!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I was inspired to design this unique tool through the encouragement of my spiritual mentor, who first guided me on the path of a renewed mindset. This 52-week Sermon Notebook is beautifully crafted to help you capture the Word of God as it’s being shared—whether in church, Bible study, or personal devotion time.
It’s more than just a notebook—it’s a faith-building companion designed to deepen your spiritual walk, track your revelations, and apply God’s Word to your everyday life.
The response so far has been heartwarming! Many readers have shared how it has helped them stay focused, reflect more deeply, and grow in their faith journey.
If you’re ready to listen with intention, reflect with purpose, and grow with God, this is the perfect tool for you!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Here are two unique writing habits, and I embrace them fully!
1. I write from a place of testimony.
Most of what I write comes straight from my own experiences—what I’ve walked through, overcome, and learned with God. I believe our stories carry power, and I use mine to inspire others to rise.
2. I love God’s Word deeply.
This is truly me. I’m passionate about the Scriptures. The Word of God is my anchor, and I often include it in my writing—not just as a reference, but as a foundation. It shapes my thoughts, my message, and how I encourage others.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Becoming an author is a meaningful journey, especially when your message carries purpose and hope. The most important advice I can give is to keep God at the center. When He is your guide, your writing becomes more than words—it becomes a ministry tool.
Get a mentor or coach. Their support can help you stay focused, avoid mistakes, and step confidently into your calling.
Build your author brand early. Don’t wait until your book is published to share your message. Let your audience connect with your heart and mission beforehand.
And finally, don’t be afraid to market. Marketing is ministry when your book carries transformation. Share boldly—someone’s breakthrough is connected to your obedience.
Stay faithful and committed. Your voice matters, and your story can change lives.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I have received comes from the scripture
Joshua 1:8 (KJV) says:
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
