Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, USA. Three adult children are who my world revolves around. Zumiez, my Papillion dog makes me smile every day.
I released my first book in 2013. Now that my children are older, I have time to devote to my writing. My favorite genre to write is Cozy Mysteries. I have two series released under that genre. The Jelly Shop Mysteries has four released stories and Shipwreck Cafe Mysteries has one.
I also release a new Christmas story each year( Keep the Faith, Ellen McGuire and The Wishing Cradle) with Daddy’s Last Wish being released this year.
The Baby Factory and The Big Mistake Club are two other books in different genres that I have written.
The sequel to Keep the Faith will be released this November, Be Careful What You Wish For, Ellen McGuire.
In January 2019, I will be releasing a new cozy series, Henrietta Higgins, Hairdresser to Murder. Book #1 is Curlers and Corpses and #2 is Perm…anently Dead.
2019 will be a busy year for me having 12 new books to release.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book, Until Jam Do Us Part, is the fourth in The Jelly Shop Mysteries. I love the people of Whipper Will Junction. They are quirky, caring and full of fun. I have 8 more books outlined for this series.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
None
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Kathi Daley’s cozy mysteries.
What are you working on now?
I am finishing up Daddy’s Last Wish and the second book in The Shipwreck Cafe series, Death on the Half Shell. I also have a new YA book started called The Book Juggler.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My Facebook pages are the best promotional tools I use right now.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I learned the hard way. Never edit your own work.
Write what you know and what you enjoy to write.
It takes a while to build up a reader base, it does not happen over night.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up.
What are you reading now?
I am reading quite a few books on lighthouses and ghost stories as research for my Shipwreck Cafe series.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to submit my new cozy series to Hallmark for consideration.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would bring empty notebooks and pens so that I could continue to write.
