Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a wife, mother, upcoming author, and practicing clinician. I enjoy the simple things in life such as: spending quality time with my family, and never missing an opportunity to say I love you to those that matter the most. P.R.A.I.S.E. – is my first and only publication thus far. Writing is a relaxing past time for me. I enjoy writing uplifting inspirational pieces that inspire others to be the best version of themselves that they can be; helping them to create the life they desire to live.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
P.R.A.I.S.E. – A Woman’s Guide to Finding Fulfillment in Marriage, Family, & Career
This book is a labor of love inspired by personal experience. Like many others when I considered getting married, having a family, and pursing my career interests I did so because I believed these things would be a source of joy and fulfillment in my life. Unfortunately for me this was not the case. I found myself juggling too many roles, responsibilities, and commitments. Most of which I did not sign up for. Life happened and things seemed to be forcibly dumped into my lap. I was failing miserably. I was over whelmed, frustrated, and it seemed as if none of my hard work and sacrifice was paying off. I was fed up – enough was enough – so I did something about it. And thus the P.R.A.I.S.E. method was birthed. I have finally discovered how to enjoy the fruits of my labor and live the life I deserve. And I hope to empower others to do the same.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I only write when I am inspired to do so. Writing is an art and cannot be forced but is birthed from within.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a fan of Priscilla Shirer, and Sarah Jakes Roberts, just to name a few
What are you working on now?
I am passionate about building strong marriages, and families. I am currently working on my next book that will take couples on a how-to journey of discovering how to successfully navigate the ups and downs of marriage, and discovering God’s divine plan for their covenant union.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have found that offering a product that delivers results is the best marketing tool around. My purpose in writing is to empower women from the inside out to build a strong marriage, a strong family, and strong faith. Through faith-based teaching my writing delivers practical advice that readers can implement “now” and see results.
My work is available for purchase on my website: https://www.praise2017.com
And amazon and Barnes & Noble
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write the book. Let your creative energy flow and just write. You can edit later. Do not strive for perfection – if you do you will never finish.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Be the best you that you can be.”
We can only be ourselves and who God has designed us to be. There is something unique and powerful on the inside of you waiting to be released for the benefit of not only yourself but others. When you waste time trying to be some one you are not, you not only cheat yourself but you cheat the world of the greatness you have to offer.
What are you reading now?
Lately my days have been spent mostly writing. However I do enjoy christian literature, self-help books, and even reading cook books – as I enjoy experimenting with new recipes from time to time.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am open to going wherever God leads me next on this journey.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
This is a tough question.
I would take my bible to keep me grounded
The Five love languages – by: Gary Chapman because it’s one of my favorites
And one at random pick out of my personal library
