Interview With Author Dr. Shubhi Shrivastava
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Shubhi Shrivastava, and I have a very basic background that is far from the poetic world. When the world was full of chaos and suffering due to Covid, that’s when I found my strength. That’s when I published my first book “The wordy side” and then “Hey! It’s me; A trip to yourself. I have given my contribution in the book, ” 40 to 40 million” by Dr Aanjana Reetoria in its translation. Apart from these, I have been part of 50+ anthologies. My latest book “Kahaaniyan” has been released recently
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book” Kahaaniyan” is recently released. This a beautiful collection of various poems, all in Hindi language written about those little moments of the life which we unknowingly carry throughout our life and want to cherish forever.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been highly influenced by Munshi Premchand ji, his poems and stories are the bridge that have walked us throughout our childhood. From being the poet of the poem in our textbooks to being an important part of my motivation, I have been highly influenced by his skills. Those simple but deep pieces of art embedded in those poems have always fascinated me not only to read but to write something of my own.
What are you working on now?
Right now I just finished my book and planning to take a back seat and then work on my next book which may be of a self help category.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
These author interviews help to connect with the readers on a deeper level. It not only allows us to introduce our books, but also the person who is holding the pen, behind the pen name.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Consistency is the key to everything. Being new in this feels very tough and it’s tougher to keep walking even after there is not even a single sign of reaching somewhere. But keep writing is the only key to reach where you want to. It’s tough but it is worth it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Not all days are the same. Some days bring you everything you want, while some bring nothing but we should welcome each and everything keeping our arms open. And never be afraid of criticism, it makes you finer and polished.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am planning to take a break , and start afresh with a new book , new concept.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
– Hey its me , a trip to yourself
– Godan – Munshi Premchand
– Gaban – Munshi premchand
