Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
It’s funny, being an author dictates the ability to converse using the written word. However, ask an author to tell you about themselves and the words seem to vanish. To date, I have written and self-published ten novels. With at least that many again swimming around in my head waiting for their allotted time slot to surface and be written. I am a weird little Australian writer with characters in her head that won’t be quiet. I have a heart that loves all things paranormal. Mix that with my natural ability to make people laugh and you have my books in essence.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Depth – This is the second installment of the Apalala Clan series. This series is about five handsome dragon shifters. They are the sons of the king and in being part of the royal family, they are entrusted with the safety and security of the entire clan. Depth centers around Attor, the second oldest son. The clan got relocated when their home was destroyed in an epic battle. (see bk 1 Immersion) Attor’s concerns with the clan’s safety threaten to put a wedge between the brothers. Can love bring them together? Or will it drive them further apart?
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like my music very loud. I always have ear buds in and so loud they drown out the world and let the voices bubble to the surface. I rarely know what I have written until I go back and reread it. I have no plans, or plotting involved. The story plays out like a movie in my head, and I simply write what they show me.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
All authors inspire me for doing what they do. Writing a book and putting it out for public judgement is very difficult. Self-doubt is a shadow that haunts every writers mind. Authors like Nina Bangs, Lynsey Sands, Dakota Cassidy, J.R.Ward and P.C.Cast are some of the few that have inspired me to do what I do.
What are you working on now?
F#CKED IF I KNOW – This title and cover was made a joke in my street team one day. That night the story entered my dreams and hijacked my thoughts. It’s the way it happens for me most times. This is a story about a young woman born in to an extremely wealthy family. On the announcement of her arranged marriage she decides to run away rather than spend another day under the weighty thumb of her powerful father. When she finds a circus flyer on her way to the train station, she realizes it would be the perfect place to hide out. her family would never think to look for her amongst the circus freaks.
This story is full of lies, deception and a belly full of laughs. Nothing is as it seems, especially when a handsome reporter starts to dig too deep for her comfort.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Right now I’m using www.iflowcreative.net – we’ll see how it works out. 🙂
Do you have any advice for new authors?
This is a hard business. Ask for help, listen to others, and do what’s right for your books. If you want to be taken seriously, create a professional look. After all, no one knows your books better then you.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Stay true to the words in your soul.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading ‘Cowsex’ by the talented Lesley Jones. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s a fantastic romantic comedy.
What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing hopefully. I have the last in the Halfway House Series being released shortly. ‘Rumor’ will be a book that will break my fans in the best way possible. I have so many tales to tell yet, including a fantastic series about the Reaper.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Twilight by Stephanie Meyers, what can I say? #TeamEdward all the way.
Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris. Oh Eric Northman, you can bite me anytime.
The BlackDagger Brotherhood by J.R.Ward. Zsadist is mine, you hear it? Hands off, that sexy vamp is all mine.
