Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
The $1.99 Author is the third book to my credit, and I am a Canadian author living in Toronto.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The $1.99 Author was inspired by my five year journey as a book author.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I was tempted to say procrastinating until deadlines loom but that may not be “unusual” from what I’ve seen.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Believe it or not, I go out of my way to not be influenced by reading in genres I plan to write in. I want my voice on the page.
What are you working on now?
Book marketing has my full attention for the time being, although a new fictional work has been nagging at me for about a year now so 2022 may see a return to writing.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The greatest measurable return on investment, factoring in both time and money, comes from e-mail campaigns.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I have to laugh. . . READ The $1.99 Author! If you have a burning desire to one day hold a book you wrote in your hands, you have my condolences.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you expect nothing, you’ll never be disappointed.
What are you reading now?
I’m taking a break, but I’m on the lookout for a good indie mystery if I can find one.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’d like to think traditional publishing but I’m not sure I have the patience.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
M, S, and T of an encyclopedia, and maybe War and Peace.
