Interview With Author Eina Schroeder
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Certified Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes Specialist and a seasoned expert in cybersecurity, anti-money laundering, fraud investigations, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC). So far I’ve written two books: one exploring the world of romance scammers and another on enhancing financial crimes investigations. I am excited to write more!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is HeartBreak Hackers: Don’t Let Love Scam You. I was inspired to write it so people will be empowered to recognize, stand up to and advocate for others against people who scam for a living. I would like to become another voice on the awareness platform that desperately needs more voices to reach more people.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m not sure, I research, write, edit, write some more, edit some more and eventually create and publish.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love reading, I have always loved reading. A very short list of authors who have influenced me would be: Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Michael Moorcock, Jean M Auel, James Joyce and Cecil Adams.
What are you working on now?
Right now I am working on a series of books addressing both financial crimes and scams, what they are, how to spot them, avoid them, get out of them and advocate for others.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still new at promotion and have not yet found a “best method”. I hope I find one soon!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Figure out your marketing plan before publishing!!! Where, when, how much.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep your nose to the grindstone and don’t give up.
What are you reading now?
Currently I’m reading Stephen Kings “If It Bleeds”
What’s next for you as a writer?
To keep writing, develop and nurture an audience and support as many as I can with guidance and tools.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Stephen King: Nightmares & Dreamscapes
James Joyce: Ulysses
Michael Moorcock: The Cornelius Chronicles
Apsley Cherry-Garrard: The Worst Journey in The World
