Author Bio:
V. K. Clarke is a former NYPD instructor and Gang Intelligence Unit veteran who served in the
South Bronx and at the Police Academy’s Law Department, where he trained new recruits and
future leaders.
Recognized multiple times as Company of the Month for his innovative teaching, Clarke
became known for his question-based learning method — a style that challenges students to
think critically, discover answers, and grow through self-mastery. He credits these
achievements not only to his approach but also to the dedication, effort, and motivation of the
student officers who embraced the challenge to excel.
After his years of service, Clarke transitioned into financial planning and public speaking,
leading seminars for police executives and professionals on retirement, investing, and life
after the badge. Through his involvement in the surplus funds recovery field, he has found
another rewarding way to serve — helping families and individuals in need reclaim funds that
rightfully belong to them.
