Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Well, I have a couple books “written” none published as of yet, but here’s hoping it’s not long till that answers different!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It’s a Short Story called What Happened After Midnight. My inspiration came from one thought, “What if Cinderella went off track and her poor Fairy Godmother had to scramble to get her back on it?”
So much can come from a good “What if” question!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a sporadic writer. I can’t get too structured or I burn out way fast. Which means to annoitsidernit looks like I’m all over the place.
Also I have three pandora radio stations I listen to for inspiration, One Direction, Dan and Shay Country, and Josh Groban.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The most influential book is Ella Enchanted. I hated reading till I read it in fourth grade and I’m forever grateful it changed my life!
The authors who have influenced me most recently are, Kelly Oram, her books are incredibly funny, as well as so well written! And Amanda Kaye, we’re buddies and she’s the first to read over my stuff and give feedback—she’s invaluable. Her own work is amazing too! I’m in awe over what she can do with just 26 letters!
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on publishing a YA called Rival Summer. It’s about two competing summer theater camps and a girl who has to attend the “wrong” one.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m not quite sure yet….but I’m eager to find out!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I still think of myself as a newbie, so I guess all I can say is, keep at it. Do it for you, not for reviews, or stars. Write because you have something you need to tell yourself. There is an audience for everything!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Best advice ever? Eyebrows are sisters now twins! Best writing advice? When it comes to writing you can not fail, only learn. And anytime you learn, you succeed.
What are you reading now?
Ha! I just binged the TV show Greek, so I’m not reading much in fiction. (I’m not one of those who can be mentally involved in more than one story at a time). But I am working through a great empowering self-help entitled, Mastering Affluence.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Great question. I hope a published full length novel is next. It’s what I’m working towards, so it’s bound to happen eventually.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Ahh, “I could no sooner choose a favorite star among the heavens.” Ten points if you get the reference!
Well, okay. The Host by Stephanie Meyer, The Avery Shaw Experiment by Kelly Oram, as well as her Jamie Baker series and The Harry Potter series (series count as one book right?).
