Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an Author, tourist, philanthropist, member of staff of Community Development and a social scientist. I have been awarded several times in my life. I was awarded first national prizes, three times; essay competition 2002, 2003 and Biology Olympiads 2004. I was also awarded the Nobel of Science at Southern Federal University in Russia in 2012. I have written two books. I am the author of the Elegance of Curiosity and ADAPT, my new book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is ADAPT: Pliable in the Storms of Change. The life of Nelson Mandela inspired me to write this book. In fact, there are many things that inspired me to write this book. The political revolutions, civil unrest, food riots, The sudden resignation of Pope Benedict XVI in 2013, the rise and fall of Empires, the proverbial pump from the invisible hand in 1930 and 2008 financial crises. The theme of the book is social adaptation to change . President John Kennedy stated that Change is the law of Life.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Whether I have an unusual writing ability is for the readers to say. All I know is that I enjoy writing books. I like what I do and I am proud of My work. I think the most important thing about writing is to enjoy every stage of writing a manuscript. How do you expect other people to enjoy your work if you don’t really like it, let alone enjoy it? I have an ability to concentrate for a long period.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been influenced by many authors. Henry Ford, MD Ben Carson, Malcolm Gladwell, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Alice Roberts, Richard Feynman, Thomas Sowell, Christopher Hitchens and many others whom I have forgotten to mention. It is very true that what we are is a result of the cumulative contributions of mentors, books we have read, friends and choices we have made with what we have.
What are you working on now?
I published my second book on February 2, 2014. I am working on my next book which I plan to publish by the end of this year.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I do free promotions on Amazon and other websites which take advantage of free promotions.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
New authors should write books because they enjoy it. They should not write books to get rich. The greatest reward in writing books is to help other people to live better and satisfying lives.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I have ever heard is “Do your best in whatever you do”
What are you reading now?
I am reading the autobiography of Sir Alex Ferguson.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue writing on part-time basis because I have other responsibilities in public service.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My life and work by Henry Ford, George Washington, Applied Economics by Thomas Sowell and The Passions and The Interests.
