Interview With Author eray yüksek
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Eray Yüksek, a public health nurse from Turkey and a writer passionate about self-discipline and time management. I’ve written one book so far—Win Your Time—which reflects the core habits and mindset shifts that helped me reclaim my own productivity.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest and first book is called Win Your Time: Take Control of Your Minutes, Take Back Your Life. It was inspired by my personal experience of battling procrastination, feeling overwhelmed, and eventually discovering systems that actually worked. I wrote it for people who need practical guidance without the fluff.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write using time blocks and the Pomodoro method. I often set strict timers and reward myself with short breaks. I also tend to write outlines on paper before moving to digital.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Authors like James Clear (Atomic Habits), Cal Newport (Deep Work), and David Allen (Getting Things Done) have heavily influenced my writing approach—practical, direct, and results-driven.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently outlining a follow-up book focused on digital clarity and long-term focus. I’m also developing a sci-fi fiction project that combines psychological and philosophical themes.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Right now, I’m using Amazon KDP’s free promotion tools and sites like Awesome Gang to reach new readers. I also experiment with Reddit communities that focus on productivity and self-improvement.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t wait for perfection. Write every day, even if it’s messy. The clarity comes through the process, not before it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Discipline equals freedom.” That single phrase changed the way I think about time, effort, and responsibility.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins and revisiting Make Time by Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan to build a series of concise, practical self-development books, and branch into fiction where I can explore the same themes through storytelling.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Deep Work by Cal Newport,
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius,
Atomic Habits by James Clear,
and The Road by Cormac McCarthy—for both survival and reflection.
