Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I published my first book in 2015, a romantic-suspense about a woman who escaped domestic abuse being stalked by her ex, called “Broken Pieces”. This is a full-length novel in which a prequel was written afterward. Since that time, all of my books have been suspense-thriller or psychological-thriller.
In addition to writing, I like to knit, sew, cook, bake and I am an avid video-gamer. I spend the rest of my free time with my niece, Gianna.
I was born and raised in New York City. I still live in the same house of my youth, my family belonging to same community for over 72 years.
I have always enjoyed reading and would often read as many books as I was able to from a very young age.
I have recently completed my fifth novel, a suspense-thriller called “Shelter” that was released in February 2019.
I am currently at work on my next novel, “The Doctor” which will be released in late January 2020
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Doctor. I don’t quite know where I got the idea from, but I do like to read lots of suspense and thriller novels. I am also a horror movie addict(Annabelle, Halloween, The Conjuring, etc.)
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No really, but I do suffer from insomnia and that is when I come up with some really good story ideas.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Since I read a lot of suspense and thriller, I like Tess Gerritsen, Kate White, Gillian Flynn but I also read a lot of new and unknown authors. I am always on the hunt for a good thriller, regardless of who wrote it.
What are you working on now?
Believe it or not, I have already begun outlining my next book(which will be released Fall of 2020). I am not even taking a break because the story is simply bursting from me lol.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I usually post in a lot of groups on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I have a monthly newsletter that goes out on the 2nd Wednesday each month. I also have a blog that I am trying to incorporate things into in regards to my work. I am thinking of doing a Behind The Scenes type of thing. Something to give readers and fellow authors an insight on how I put together a book.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Join as many writing groups(I am in many)on Facebook for help and guidance. Get a good editor and someone that knows what they are doing to design your book cover. Learn all you can about book marketing to help get your book out there, and above all, KEEP WRITING!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The advice I just stated above. It really cannot be any simpler than that.
What are you reading now?
A couple of books in the thriller genre. One is called “The Last Wife” by Nicola Marsh and another is called “Like, Follow, Kill” by Carissa Ann Lynch. I haven’t read books by either author before, but the book descriptions(blurbs)pulled me in.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan on making a full-time career of this, as I have novel outlines for the next ten years. I also have a high-fantasy novel that I am planning to rapid-release as a series, written back in 1994. This will be done under a pen name so as not to confuse my readers with a completely different genre.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bone Garden – Tess Gerritsen
Sharp Objects – Gillian Flynn
and from my history of reading high-fantasy – The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan or(this is tough) The Elenium series by David Eddings
