Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born and raised on the southside of Chicago IL. I’m divorced with one son who is twenty-one now. I have a BA degree in Marketing Communications and Journalism from Columbia College of Chicago. I have been writing since I was twelve-years-old and I have two books that I just recently published. “A Woman Of Courage,” and “The Blood Oath.”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is The Blood Oath and I was inspired by the Nightmare On Elm Street films, and I also drew from my experiences with having Daymares which is a condition that I have had for several years. Daymares is like having nightmares only it happens when you are awake.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I can write anywhere I happen to be at any given moment. But I prefer writing at night when I am the most relaxed.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Maya Angelou and Steven King.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a Vampire story called The Human.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Twitter, Book Daily, Youtube, Goodreads, Pinterest, my website, and pretty much anywhere that will allow it.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t be a writer. You don’t have to have a lot of money or have an interesting life. All you need is time, and motivation.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Never give up.”
What are you reading now?
Writing Great Fiction by Professor James Hynes. I never stop learning.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have self-published my first two books and I want to try traditional publishing next. In 2017 I plan to look for an agent.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, Salem’s Lot by Steven King and Battlefield Of The Mind by Joyce Meyer.
